Retaining many of the building’s original features with vintage and modern features, it is a perfect base for a sunny, city vacation. Wander the colourful streets, explore the Douro river, eat in local restaurants and enjoy the comfort of a home-from-home for all the family. There is a supermarket and bakery on the same street, and the city’s best restaurants are nearby. Fresh bread can be delivered every morning, upon request.

Why Kids Love it

The residence has plenty of toys and books for kids under 10, and it is fully equipped for babies and toddlers. A crib, high chair, baby bathtub, stroller and car seats can be provided. There are plenty of family-friendly attractions nearby, including a playground, theme park on the history of Portugal, a puppet museum and an old wooden tram. The property is a short drive from a beach. Livraria Lello bookshop is a must-see for Harry Potter fans; free priority tickets to Lello Bookshop are available for guests staying 5 nights or more.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights, 3 in high season. A city tax of €2 per person per night is payable in cash on arrival (over 13s only, to a maximum of €14 per person per stay). This apartment is on the third floor of a recently renovated building with an elevator. The neighbourhood is peaceful at night and the tourist centre during the day. The property has cable TV and WiFi, plus washer and dryer, dishwasher and concierge services. Free pick service at the airport is provided for guests staying minimum 4 nights. Daily cleaning in included for minimum 5 night stays. Car rental not recommended or strictly necessary. Pets welcome on request only.

About the Location

The property is on Rua de São in the historical center of Porto. The neighbourhood has Michelin starred restaurants, coffee shops, terraces, museums, pharmacies and traditional shops. Most of Porto’s key attractions and monuments (Dom Luis Bridge, the Douro River, São Bento Train Station and Cathedral Sé) are under 10 minutes' walk away. It is 9km away from the beach; the golf course, Golf Quinta do Fojo, is 5 km away. Porto’s airport is a 20-minute drive away. Parking in this neighbourhood can be difficult: there are several parking lots close by plus street parking, costing €1 per hour from 8am until 8pm.

Accommodation Details

The residence has an open plan living-dining area and a gourmet kitchen with all amenities including a dishwasher. Wood bars separate the master bedroom from the living area. The master bedroom has a king-size bed. Bedding is available for 4 people in the living area, where a sofa bed plus 2 twin beds are available - the twin beds can be joined to make a kingsize bed as required. There is a bathroom with shower, towels, slippers, hair-dryer and luxury Portuguese toiletries.

Style Notes

Vintage chic. The 100-year-old building was sympathetically renovated in August 2016, keeping many of the original features, such as the wooden floors, elegant windows and high-wall skirting boards. Much of the furniture is handmade and adds a vintage feel, contrasted by sleek modern touches. Portuguese-designed and handmade furniture such lend this place a cozy vintage charm, with modern Portuguese designer illustrations as a contemporary counterpoint.

Payment policy
A city tax of EUR 2 per person and per night must be charged to all the guests sleeping in Porto. This value is not included in the accommodation price and must be paid in cash upon check in. Anyone older than 13 years (inclusive), staying a night in Porto, pays the tax per night, per person for a maximum of seven (7) straight nights per person and per stay (maximum amount of EUR 14 per guest).
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.

We were in the Old Stone flat in December. The host was very friendly with all the familiy and the apartment was wonderful. The location is very near of all the tourist attractions. If we go to Oporto again, we will stay there again.
