Retreat to the leafy riverside district of Barnes for a quiet and relaxing family stay at this colorful abode. It sleeps 5. This largely residential location in the south west of the city is ideal for families who enjoy visiting parks, playgrounds and talking walks along the river. It’s also just a stone’s throw from the Thames Path and within easy access to the Hammersmith subway for those who need to work or explore the city center and visiting parents will love returning to their own luxury suite on the top floor after busy days out.

Why Kids Love it

This is a cute and quirky home which provides a fun space for kids. The downstairs TV room could double up as a handy playroom space for children, and there's table tennis available in the garden. The kids rooms have a few books and toys, but the family-friendly fun is in this leafy location: stroll into the WWT London Wetlands Center nature reserve, where kids can learn about local wildlife and try bird watching, or hire bikes to ride the thames path all the way to Putney and Kew.

Things to Know

No pets, parties or smoking.The lead guest must be at least 25 years old. All guests will receive a rental agreement prior to their stay which you are required to sign and submit. This home is set over 3 floors, with air conditioning throughout. The fourth bedroom features a single bed set up on a little mezzanine in the attic which may not be suitable for very young children. There's a separate utility room, complete with washing machine and tumble dryer. The kitchen includes a double oven with a pizza and rotisserie setting. One room (not pictured) will be locked with no guest access. The host has a friendly cat who'll be around during your stay. It might be possible to re-home her on request for any bookings of 7 days or more. Please notify the host prior to booking if you would prefer the cat is not in residence during your stay.

About the Location

This residence is located in Barnes, just south of Hammersmith Bridge. Nestled between the watery trails of the London Wetlands Center and the scenic Thames Path, the area is dotted with quaint pubs and alfresco eateries. This part of London is known for its green spaces - you’ll find plenty of playgrounds, sports courts, commons, recreation grounds and water-front parks to explore. To get around the city, walk over the river to Hammersmith tube (15 minutes) or jump in a taxi to reach Fulham and Chelsea (15 minutes by car). Heathrow airport is around half an hour by car or 1 hour by train.

Accommodation Details

The house has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, set over 3 floors. On the main entry level, you’ll find an open plan kitchen/dining room with a colorful island and cozy seating corner, as well as a separate living room (with optional sliding doors so it can be connected to the kitchen area) and a playroom plus a laundry room. Upstairs, there are 3 great kids rooms (1 single raised bed; 1 with a set of bunk beds and 1 with a single bed on an attic mezzanine). This floor also has 2 bathrooms: 1 with a walk-in shower and the other with a bathtub. The top floor is home to the primary suite, with a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Style Notes

Bright and bold. This contemporary home boasts a natural base palette of white, sprinkled with lots of bold tones to create a colorful and playful look. The kitchen boasts a unique dappled turquoise and bold blue island, while the stairs are finished with a striped red trim. We love the koi-print wallpaper in the downstairs WC, the rich blue bathroom paneling and the gloriously large kitchen windows and doors, allowing the green colors from the garden to frame the space.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
Full refund (less 3% processing fee) when cancelling at least 5 days before arrival, 50% refund if cancelling less than 5 days before arrival. In addition to the host’s policy which is listed here, all cancellations are subject to a Kid & Coe cancellation fee of 10% of the booking total.

Also the starting point of the famous annual university Boat Race, this affluent area is home to a bustling high street of shops and restaurants, as well as countless sports grounds and the WWT London Wetlands Wildlife center. All this, and yet it's less than half an hour from the heart of the capital.
