Perks for the Parents

This incredible modern home looks like a Mondrian painting from the outside and is set in one of Seattle’s most popular neighborhoods, with view of the Puget Sound from its roof terrace. Set up for families, it has a sleek great room and open kitchen with a commercial gas range, double ovens, microwave drawer and custom island. Enjoy a night by the fireplace while taking in Space Needle views, a soak in the master bedroom tub that fills from the ceiling, a glass of wine in the hot tub or a cup of coffee on the roof deck. The back yard has a hot tub.

Why Kids Love it

The house is great for younger children and toddlers. One of the upstairs kids bedrooms has twin bunk beds while the second kids bedroom has an oval Stokke crib? There is a pack’n’play available in the downstairs bedroom. The main floor has a playroom with a small trampoline and lots of toys. The house has a small backyard, and there are multiple parks and playgrounds nearby. There are 5 parks within walking distance, plus a public library and a ton of shops and restaurants steps away on Queen Anne Avenue.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. There is driveway parking and garage entry. There are baby gates at the tops of both staircases. Some stairs are a little steep; there is also a roof deck and balcony where children must be supervised at all times. There are steps up to the front door. Bathrooms include showers and tubs. No pets. Car rental useful but not essential - the house is a block to a bus stop that will take you downtown, and it is a fairly easy walk to the Space Needle, Seattle Center and the Monorail (the walk up is tiring and mostly uphill).

About the Location

The residence is in Queen Anne, Seattle, a central district of the city. The neighborhood offers a small town feel and walkable neighborhood charm while being nestled in a big city. Popular tourist destination, Kerry Park, is only 2 blocks away to the south. Two coffee shops, an Italian restaurant and Molly Moon's Ice Cream are 2 blocks to the north. The house is 20 minutes from Seattle-Sea Tac airport.

Accommodation Details

This 4-bedroom home has a master bedroom and 2 kids rooms on the upper level, with an open concept main floor with playroom/office and state of the art appliances, and media room/bedroom on the lower level. The 5 bathrooms include rooms with tubs and showers. There is a small backyard with a hot tub and enough play space for young kids. Three flights of stairs up from the lower level to the top take you to a 600 sqft roof deck with sweeping views of the Puget Sound and a partial city skyline view in the winter months.

Style Notes

Bright and modern. This stunning contemporary home is picture-perfect inside and out. With a huge concrete island and open concept living, the style works well for families and provides space to enjoy different activities in the same space. Large trees surround the property so if all of the floor-to-ceiling windows are open you feel like you are in a tree house. The main living space is made cozy with a shaggy rug and fire for colder nights. Kids rooms are full of lovely creative toys for young children, from a blackboard easel to a train play table.

We enjoyed a fabulous 3-night stay at this property. It is clean, comfortable, spacious, and tastefully decorated. The open concept kitchen and living area was an added bonus to watch our 1-year-old. He was happy to have an abundance of toys to play with and new books for us to read to him. The residence had everything we needed to carry on his routine--high chair, crib, bathtub filled with toys, and safety gates at the stairs. We were able to relax because he was very entertained and had a lot of space to move around. The location was terrific--an easy walk to Kerry Park with spectacular views of downtown Seattle. We also explored the Queen Anne neighborhood on foot which has an excellent coffee house (Caffe Fiore), Molly Moon's Ice Cream, Top Pot Doughnuts, as well as very good restaurants and a Trader Joe's. There is a bus stop near the house which we took to the Public Market. The owners were quick to respond to our inquiries prior to our arrival and provided a bottle of wine and fresh fruit to enhance our stay which was a wonderful perk. This was our first stay at a Kid & Coe property and we were beyond thrilled with our experience. I highly recommend this 5-star residence!

Queen Anne, Seattle

Cozy bakeries and Space Needle views

Five minutes from downtown Seattle yet removed from the bustle of the city, Queen Anne is on top of a hill overlooking the Space Needle, Puget Sound and city at large. The neighbors are friendly folk: join them at regular local festivals and at the Thursday night Farmers Market. Don’t miss Le Rêve Bakery for an easy breakfast, Kerry Park for green space and views of the city lights as far as Mount Rainier, and the Seattle Center for culture, sport and year-round events.
