Mid-century modern meets crisp minimalism with a splash of character from baroque mirrors and grand arched windows with retro lighting. Most of all though, we love the pared-back simplicity and the spaciousness of these apartments.

Rome, Italy

Gladiators and gelateria

No matter what age your children are, they will love a trip to Rome. Gazing up at the ceiling in the Pantheon, marvelling at Michaelangelo’s masterpiece in the Vatican, putting their hands in the Mouth of Truth and, most of all, working out precisely which is the best gelateria in the city, are the types of adventure they will talk about for years to come. The ancient ruins of the Forum and the Colosseum bring out the inner child in everyone, while trattoria serve up the kind of pasta that even the fussiest eater couldn’t refuse. Whether as a start point to an Italian adventure or a city break on its own, Rome promises a stay to remember.
