This sun-filled apartment sleeping 2 adults and 2 children is on the edge of Paris’ most desirable areas and is just 10 minutes’ walk from the Louvre. It’s an easy place to base yourself for exploring the city, with bakeries and cafés just around the corner and a lovely balcony terrace offering views of the city rooftops. It’s a chance to see what it feels like to live in the heart of Paris, with the Seine and the Tuileries close by and plenty of key city attractions on your doorstep. We love the light main living space with its cozy sofas, perfect after a day in the city, and the kids bedrooms, filled with toys. Sitting on the balcony here with a café au lait seems like the perfect way to start the day too.

We loved this apartment and our host was incredibly communicative and gracious. First off, the location is terrific. Very quiet at night and safe for walking around, and easy public transportation options. We loved how easy it was to walk downstairs for our meals and to access the many things we wanted to do in the city. Getting in the unit took us a few minutes, because the door to the lady’s apartment who monitors the lobby and had the key was tucked away out of view, so we didn’t notice it right away. Once we found her, she gave us the key and we got settled very easily. We were there during the worst heat wave the locals could remember, and Rebecca offered to reimburse us for any fans we needed to buy during the trip. She was on vacation herself and wasn’t aware of the heat wave; otherwise, she surely would have left some from what we could gather. We appreciated her communication around that issue very much, because apartments in Paris don’t typically have air conditioning and the heat was brutal. The apartment was adorable with a simple, vintage feel replete with a great CD collection of Madonna, etc. and other fun music, and our kids loved their rooms and games. Our daughter is 11 and very tall, so the bed was not comfortable for her since the hosts’ daughter is younger and lighter, but there was an extra trundle mattresss under the bed that we used instead and that worked well. There are tons of tons of books and toys, and the overall room was very whimsical, which was fun. Our favorite part of the apartment was the terrace. It runs from the kitchen to the master bedroom, so you can sleep with the windows wide open and they are large and airy, which was beautiful. This is a great spot for families. I would just note the need for fans in the summer and that the bed is meant for a younger child in the girl’s room. The master bedroom bed was fine, and we appreciated having the washer and dryer in the unit since we were on leg two of a longer trip.

We had a wonderful time at the Leopold Bellan residance. The location is fantastic, the apartment is on a quiet street around the corner from the bustling rue Montorgueil filled with wonderful restaurants, cafes, patisseries and markets, a food-lover's paradise. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. The childrens' rooms were filled with wonderful toys and books, my daughter had so much fun playing in the apartment. The location is wonderful, very close to the metro and a quick walk to Les Halles and the Pompidou center and not much more than a 20 minute walk to the Louvre. We would happily stay again.

We were completely thrilled with our stay at Leopold Bellan. The location was wonderful - right in the heart of a busy and vibrant (and safe) neighborhood but off the main street enough that it was quiet and peaceful for sleeping at night. The apartment was spacious and very comfortable. We all felt right at home and slept beautifully in the comfortable beds. The owner was readily reachable for any questions and provided some suggestions for where to eat in the neighborhood as well as a very handy Metro pocket map. We will happily stay there again in future visits to Paris.

Rue Montorgueil, The 2nd arrondissement

Paris as a village

Smell flowers on the market stalls, wander cobbled streets and dine in cozy bistros: Rue Montorgueil is a place to experience a village-like atmosphere in the heart of the city. It's close to the Paris Stock Exchange and monuments including the Centre Pompidou are close by; it's also bordered by the city's hippest district, the Marais, with its vintage theatres and hip boutiques.
