Along with a gourmet kitchen and dual-temperature wine fridge, the house has a herb garden and a state-of-the-art outdoor grill. Cooking is great fun! The hot tub and heated pool (both with night-time lighting) are perfect for a dip at night with a glass of wine after the kids go to sleep. The outdoor shower is an added bonus.

Why Kids Love it

The house is great for kids of all ages, who will enjoy running around on the large lawn, playing with the lawn toys, playing ping pong in the basement, or splashing in the heated pool with the various pool toys. Kids can shoot some hoops while you drink your morning coffee on the large front porch. Beach toys and chairs are provided for easy family days at the beach. There is a basement full of toys, games, books, arts and crafts, and DVDs. Sag Harbor's Main Street is a great place to take the kids for some shopping or ice cream, or to look at the many impressive yachts in the marina. Extras for younger kids include a pack ‘n’ play crib, a high chair, a safety fence for the stairs, and plenty more. There is an extra bedroom in the basement, perfect for a nanny, and an additional suite on the first level with an ensuite bathroom for guests.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 week. Although there are enough beds to sleep 21 guests, the hosts prefer to let it to a maximum of 12. Electricity is charged extra. The pool is heated and has a fence around it. The house is fully wired indoors and out with a Sonos sound system. It also has 2-zone central heating and cooling (powered by Nest). All linens, bath towels, and pool towels provided along with beach chairs. Extra blankets and pillows for guests are provided. Stairs can be gated on request.

About the Location

The residence is a 5-minute drive from Sag Harbor town and a 4-minute drive from the town beach. The town itself is quaint and casual yet sophisticated without being showy. The area has so much to offer - beaches, marinas, bars, restaurants, theaters, shops, exercise studios and more. It can be reached by Jitney from New York City and is approximately 2 hours’ away by car. Car rental recommended in the area; you can also easily get around by bike.

Style Notes

Beach chic. The residence is professionally decorated with a modern chic beach theme of whites, blues, and grays. The outside is a driftwood gray with white accents. Inside, there is wooden flooring, comfortable soft furnishings and beautiful beach scenes on the walls. Bedrooms are soothing and inspiring, with pretty headboards and plush rugs. We love the outdoor space, with the freeform pool and sleek loungers, and the beautifully thought-out provisions for families.

I'm a Brooklyn mom of two boys, ages 9 and 11. My husband and I own a wonderful vacation home in Sag Harbor, NY. We love to travel and also love to open our home to like-minded families. We hope you enjoy our property as much as we do!

Sag Harbor, The Hamptons

Sailboats, shopping and the sea

It’s hard to believe this quaintly charming village was once an international port, but Sag Harbor’s whaling history put it firmly on the map as a commercial center. These days, you can get a taste of what life was like at the Whaling Museum, or walk the historic lanes around Main Street dotted with galleries, independent boutiques and 18th century captains’ homes, before strolling past the sailboats in the harbor itself.
