Perks for the Parents

Head down to the beach for a highly walkable stay in Saint Simons Island, close to sandy shores, playgrounds and restaurants. It sleeps 10. Visit the local boutique grocery stores, gift shops and microbrewery nearby on foot or rent a golf cart or bike and head down to the village for delicious seafood restaurants (ask the host for help arranging rentals). You could even play a round of golf nearby - Sea Palms and King & Prince Hampton Club both welcome non-members.

Why Kids Love it

The residence has toys and books for children under 10, baby gates and a pack and play available on request. Other baby items can be provided (ask the host before arrival) and both bathrooms have tubs for bath time. Within a 1 block route you can visit The Cottage (kids’ playground, “grab and go” ice cream, pastries, coffee, and breakfast, and gifts) and it’s just 300 steps to the public beach, which is sandy. It’s a short drive or bike ride down to the Golden Isles Visitor Center and SSI Lighthouse Museum for more ideas for family days out.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: X nights. Check in: 4pm. Check out: 10am. Safety notes: the property is set over 4 stories and the main entry is on the first level. You can enter the property with an electronic keypad. There are 3 decks: 2 on the second floor and 1 on the fourth floor. All the decks are fenced in. There is parking for 2-3 cars in front of the property but car rental is not essential. The public beach access is located directly beside The King and Prince Resort - no beach passes are required. Sorry - no pets and no gatherings or events.

About the Location

The house is located centrally in the heart of St Simons Island in Georgia. This is a super easy spot for a family beach vacation: it’s a short walk to the beach, playgrounds and many restaurants. The pier village is a 5-minute drive, where you’ll find more restaurants, the fishing pier and newly-updated playgrounds for the kids. Jacksonville airport is just over 1 hour away; Savannah airport is around 1.5 hours away by car.

Accommodation Details

This townhouse has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, set over 4 floors. On the entry level there’s an open floor plan with a fully equipped kitchen and breakfast bar leading to a family-sized dining table for 6, a living room with ample seating and a pull out sofabed. The back porch has a barbecue grill. There’s a kingsize bedroom located on the first floor, with a living space and pull out sofabed. The primary bedroom (kingsize) and queensize guest room are on the second floor. The fourth floor has a queensize guest room. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom (some connected in a Jack-and-Jill joint entry style).

Style Notes

Seashells on the seashore. This property is very bright, breezy, open and modern, with a lot of natural light. The hosts have chosen a coastal and beachy style, which is shown in every room through nautical artwork, blue-and-white-striped textiles and white wooden textures. We love the colorful tiling in the bathroom, the inviting turquoise front door and the seashell lighting fixture hanging over the breakfast bar.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.

Saint Simon's Island, Georgia

In the southern quarter of Georgia's coast, between Jacksonville FL and Savannah, St. Simon's Island or 'The Island' as locals have it, is an oasis of calm, wide sandy beaches, golf courses and unspoilt habitats. Regularly voted one of America's favorite beach towns, it boasts great restaurants and an easy-living charm. Rent a boat and visit the pristine beaches of Little St. Simon's Island, play in Neptune's park which has a children's playground, a miniature golf course and swimming pool, and explore the many waterways by kayak or canoe.

We have visited St. Simons a few times as a family and you really can't beat this location! You are steps from the beach and right next door to The Cottage which has great coffee, ice cream AND a super fun play area for kids. The hosts were fast to respond and helpful. The home has plenty of space for a family, games, beach chairs, etc. Perfect stay!
