Perks for the Parents

A large family home in Saint Rémy, Provence with a heated swimming pool, at-home gym and a separate annex that’s ideal for grandparents or a nanny. It sleeps 12 + 1. This peaceful and serene home offers total privacy set in a picturesque landscape. There is a small road near the house which leads to the Crau plateau - the perfect place for hiking or running through a pine forest and a vast olive grove - and there are many hiking trails available from the house leading to the famous Alpilles hills. Everyone can have their own space to relax here, whether you want to swim, work out, play a game of pétanque or simply enjoy some delicious local food and wine on the glorious outdoor terrace.

Why Kids Love it

This is a great vacation home for kids of all ages. While there are no specific toys for younger children, there’s plenty of space for kids to play games outside or join in with a family game of pétanque! The pool is also heated, meaning even little ones will enjoy splashing around in the water from dawn until dusk. For indoor days, they’ll love the TV and home cinema system and there are 2 living areas if they want their own space. It’s a short walk to the village, so teenagers can explore the area independently where they’ll find a cinema, tennis courts, cafes and a skate park.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 days in low/mid season, 7 days in summer, and 14 days in August with bookings running from Saturday to Saturday in summer. Tourist tax is not included and should be paid directly to the host on arrival (approximately 4EUR per adult per night, depending on location). Safety notes: the house is secured by an automatic gate and totally fenced in, with a security alarm. The pool is also protected by an automatic roller cover but young children should always be supervised. The pool is heated and measures 10m x 6.5m. There is space outdoors to park 4 cars - car rental is advised if you want to explore the region but not essential. The house has air conditioning, WiFi throughout, satellite TV (French and English channels), a Home Cinema system and a portable Bluetooth speaker. There’s also a good amount of sports equipment, including an aqua bike, exercise bike and gym ball. The hosts have 8 bicycles (for adults and kids) available for guests to use during their stay.

About the Location

The house is located in a residential part of Saint Rémy in Provence, France. Surrounded by beautiful views of the mountains, it’s less than 1km away from all the stores and eateries (as well as Roman ruins) of Saint Rémy village: you can walk (15 minutes) or cycle easily. This place is truly a haven of peace to experience the joys of the Provençal countryside. It’s also just a few minutes from exceptional natural sites such as the Baux de Provence, the archaeological site of Glanum. Nearby, the town of Arles is 25 minutes by car; the beaches of Saintes Maries de la Mer are 1 hour away; and the creeks of Cassis are 1.5 hours by car. Avignon train station is 20 minutes’ drive (and you can pick up a car rental from the station). Marseille Provence Airport is around 1 hour away.

The fully-equipped kitchen has a family-sized dining area and this floor also has a laundry room. Upstairs: 3 queensize bedrooms plus 1 children’s room with 2 single beds. Style Notes

Provençal charm. The house is full of light and very cozy, with big comfortable sofas and a charming fireplace in the living room. Four of the bedrooms have luxurious travertine marble bathrooms (2 bedrooms share one big bathroom) and the kitchen has a traditional terracotta tiled floor. We love the traditional painted window shutters, the rustic wood furniture in the bedrooms and the spectacular landscaped gardens.

I am in love with Provence. I love the blue of the sky, the heat in Summer, the cold in Winter..the food, the people.. Al the properties I managed have been carefully chosen and all of them are kids friendly. I know my region by heart and I can help you to plan your holidays. For your kids, many activities, potery, art classes, cooking classes, climb tree experiences, fishing, canoeing etc.. For you, parents: Wine tour, Air tour above Provence and Luberon, cooking class or private chef at home, perfume making etc..

Salon-de-Provence, Provence

Artisan soap and Accrobranche

Halfway between Marseilles and Avignon, this pretty and historic Provencal town is known for its artisan soap and link with Nostradamus, who once lived there. Nearby, you’ll find treetop adventure playgrounds, caves and a safari park-zoo.
