Style Notes

Contemporary beach house. A smart, modern and relaxed residence, with floor to ceiling glass that draws in the light and views. Interiors are simple yet stylish with white-washed walls, light wood floors and brushed steel staircases. Velvet and leather textiles, and metric tiling add a sophisticated mid-century feel while colorful art pieces provide warmth and playfulness. Coziness is injected with crafted snug areas and library style nooks, as well as a statement corner fireplace in the heart of the main living room. We love the third floor living area with its comfy corner sofa, sweeping glass doors and views over the ocean and park.

San Diego and Surrounds, California

Big hitters and small pleasures

You might know San Diego for its stellar attractions: SeaWorld, Legoland and San Diego Zoo, to name but three. But there's more to the city than that. The small pleasures of digging for sand crabs on the beach - all 70 miles of it - picnicking in the park and enjoying a local craft beer make it a fun place to visit too. We love the water parks, surf towns with a 1960s vibe, complete with diners and vintage cars, and, of course, Mission Beach. With year-round sun and enough room on the beach for whatever you want to do, from building sandcastles to surfing giant waves, there's every reason to make San Diego your next family vacation stop.
