Perks for the Parents

A cool contemporary family home in Hillsborough, San Francisco with a private pool, hot tub and a great kids park around the corner. It sleeps 8 + 2. The hosts here have 2 young children, so the house is perfectly set up for families. Parents will love the huge, luxurious walk-in shower in the primary ensuite bathroom, while the downstairs bedroom is separate from the rest of the house - ideal for grandparents, teens or families traveling with a nanny or an au pair. Music lovers can play some songs on the record player, take a turn on the guitar or connect their tunes to the Sonos sound system once the kids are in bed. You can spend your days lounging around the pool, exploring the local mountain trails, surfing at the beach or hitting the sights in buzzy San Francisco city - guests will never be bored here!

Why Kids Love it

This dreamy home is so much fun for kids. The hosts have lots of toys, puzzles and board games for little ones to enjoy, and the stylish children’s bedroom has a cozy teepee for hiding out from parents. The flat grassy lawn is perfect for soccer, badminton and baseball, and there’s even a swing hanging from the tree. For older kids there is an outdoor ping pong table under the deck, while kids of all ages will love the private pool and hot tub. On the deck is a fire pit with skewers for evening s'mores. Just around the corner, the pretty Vista Park has a big playing field and a beautiful kid-friendly playground. The hosts also have a great selection of baby and toddler essentials, including: a crib, high chair, changing table, children’s utensils, stair gates, baby bath and more, available on request.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 nights. Safety notes: the stairs leading to the downstairs bedroom are secured with a safety gate, while the pool and hot tub are secured behind a safety fence. Two Nest cameras and Google Home displays are available on request, which can be used as baby monitors. During some periods the host's au pair will be on site in a separate basement unit with a dedicated entrance with no shared facilities. She may be available upon request for childcare during your stay. The pool is partially heated with the solar cover and is about 78-82 degrees (F) in the summer. Guests can inquire with the host about heating it further for an additional fee. Driveway parking is available and car rental is recommended. The house comes with air conditioning, dishwasher, utility room with washer/dryer, TV and WiFi.

About the Location

Style Notes

Bring the outdoors in. This bright, light home was renovated in 2019 with updated finishes and new appliances throughout. The hosts have designed the space to create an easy indoor/outdoor environment and open plan layout - ideal for keeping an eye on little ones during your stay. Rustic patterned textiles add color to a calming neutral palette, while black window frames and sleek contemporary bathrooms add a modern touch to this classic styling. We love the botanical wallpaper in the bathroom, the unique green utility room and the sorbet stripes in the children’s bedroom.

Hi! My wife Kate and I love to travel and have been all over the world together but with two young kids now we're making more trips to local parks these days. We like the unique places we've gotten to see and people we've met. We also love our home, which we're setting up to be a fun, sustainable sanctuary for our family and friends and we're excited to be able to offer it up for hosting occasionally when we do get out of town!
