Style Notes

Spanish charm. Light and airy, this guest house has a beachy, modern feel despite the original Spanish details: check out the original Spanish tile roof and Saltillo tile patio floor tiles. The hosts have chosen hardwood floors, butcher block countertops and neutral tones to create a subtly contemporary space that feels calming and minimalist, but also relaxing for parents and families. We love the antique wooden furniture, the mix of textures in the bedrooms and the bright color-block patio.

We are new to Santa Barbara and love it. We love picnicking under the oak trees, growing fresh veggies, swimming in the ocean, and hiking the local trails.

Santa Barbara, California

Wine country, palm-fringed beaches and family fun

On the central Californian coast, Santa Barbara brings together wine country, sandy beaches and family attractions to create a fantastic family vacation destination. From the palm-fringed beaches to the shark-touching tank at the Museum of Natural History Sea Center, the beach cafés and lush parks, not to mention the small but perfectly formed zoo, Santa Barbara caters for families exceptionally well. Active kids will love sea kayaking, hiking trails in state parks and bike rides along Cabrillo Boulevard. It’s what beach cruisers were made for.
