This stylish house in the woods in the beautiful Catskills has everything a family needs to work, rest, sleep and play all year round, including a pool, gym, office and playhouse. It sleeps 6 + 1. The swimming pool is open from May to September but there’s plenty here for the other seasons too. A log fire in the living room, a huge back field for parents to relax in while kids play, and a large family kitchen with the latest appliances. You can ski at Hunter, Belleayre and Windham mountains nearby.
Why Kids Love it
Kids will love the play area downstairs with the numerous toys including corn hole. The seasonal pool has a fun waterslide and can be heated. There’s no excuse not to play outside with a volleyball court and field for ball games and soccer, a creek to splash in and a treehouse and climbing frame to play on. Inside, there is a baby monitor, highchair, crib and kids’ beds. Out and about there are hiking trails and swimming holes to discover. The fire pit area in the back yard is perfect for toasting smores and marshmallows.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 2 nights generally, 3 nights over holiday weekends and 7 nights over the summer. This house is suitable for all ages. There is a spiral staircase up to an office area that is gated. The stairs down to the basement have a latch up high on the door and out of a child’s reach. The pool is fully fenced and has a child safety gate and there’s a guard for the fire in the living room. The basement has a washer dryer.
About the Location
This house is close to the town of Saugerties that sits in between the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson River. The town of Saugerties has restaurants and shops and close by are the Catskills Animal Sanctuary and a historic lighthouse built in 1869 that can be hiked to. Also close by are great hikes including Overlook Tower and Sloan Gorge. Skiing at Hunter Mountain is 30 minutes away and Windham is just over 40 minutes, both areas have resorts and restaurants to enjoy after hitting the slopes. The towns of Woodstock and Catskill are a short drive away, and Hudson and Kingston and all they have to offer are 25-30 minutes. New York City is just over 2-hour’s drive away. A car is recommended to get around the area.

This residence has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms on 1 floor with a basement and upstairs office, reached via gated stairs. The living room has an open woodburning fireplace and there’s a separate eat-in kitchen with a dining table seating 6. The primary bedroom is kingsize with a fitted wardrobe and an ensuite with a shower. There is a queensize bedroom too. The family bathroom has a tub and stand-in shower. The kids’ bedroom has a single / twin with a trundle. A travel crib is available. A garage houses bikes and gym equipment. Outside is a pool, field and creek.

All season family fun. This secluded and private residence has it all – plenty of grown-up spots for adults to relax such as the living room with art, coffee table books and deep sofas, and spaces for kids to let it all hang out with the games room and field. We love the spacious primary bedroom with thoughtful soft furnishings, the light and bright kitchen, the fun fire pit area and the wraparound balcony – perfect for curling up with a book and listening to the birds sing.
