Perks for the Parents

A short walk from Sayulita’s fantastic beach, this one-of-a-kind residence with a pool has a treetop hot tub, an open air living area and 4 well-designed suites to relax in. Best for families with older children, it has bright decor and fabulous views of the ocean, mountains, town and beach from all rooms. There is lots of space for a group family holiday - the spacious bedrooms allow everyone a bit of privacy. Great destination for surfing - both beginners and advanced. There is a Mexican-style open air living area with a rooftop living room and kitchen/dining room dramatically linked by a bridge.

Why Kids Love it

Walking distance from the beach, this beautiful Mexican home is an easy place to stay with older kids. Walk into town to browse craft boutiques, taco stands and fruit stalls, learn to surf on the town beach, and relax in the swimming pool, hammocks or hot tub. Nearby activities include whale watching (Nov-Apr), fishing, kayaking, jungle trekking and snorkelling. Pool toys and board games are provided and a high chair can be set up if needed. A golf cart can be arranged for local transport. Bedrooms are arranged with a kingsize bed in each and 2 single sofa beds are available for kids. Rooms can be configured to suit.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 night minimum over Christmas, New Years and Easter. Rates listed are for an occupancy of 8; additional guests including children over 2 are charged at $60 per person per night. The security deposit for this property is not taken on booking by Kid & Coe but is levied separately by the host on check in. There are some hazards for small children: drops, balconies and an unfenced pool. Some bedrooms open straight on to balconies. We do not recommend this property for families with toddlers, but it works for those with non-crawling babies and older kids. A crib can be provided on request. There is no TV. Bathrooms are shower only. A daily maid service is included. Parking available.

About the Location

The property is in Sayulita, a town on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. It is in the Riviera Nayarit, around 40 minutes from Puerto Vallarta international airport. It is on a hill above the town, a 5-minute walk to the beach. Sayulita is a major surf town with a laid back atmosphere. Its streets are alive with taco stands, fruit stalls, boutiques, galleries and surf shops. The residence is a short walk to the main beach, and other beaches are just a short drive away. Car hire is useful if you plan to travel beyond the town; taxis are freely available in Sayulita.

Accommodation Details

The house has 4 double bedrooms, each with a king size bed, private bathroom, fan, sitting area and safe. Two of the bedrooms have single sofa beds that can be set up for children. The bedroom building is separate from the living space - at treetop level - which has hammocks, a hot tub, a lounge and an outdoor kitchen. There is a heated outdoor pool (9m x 5m) at ground level with outdoor shower. The outdoor kitchen and dining area are linked by a high bridge to the living space. There is a pool and walled gardens on the ground level.

Style Notes

Fully energising decor - bright colours (salmon pink, turquoise, deep purple) against pure white walls. There are palapa roofs on the outdoor spaces and the overall look is vibrant and colorful. Views are of ocean, coastline and foothills of Sierra Madre beyond Sayulita itself. The tree-top Jacuzzi has ocean views, as does the Mexican-styled open air living room. There is a dramatic bridge linking the kitchen/dining area and the living room. We love the pool and garden, the hammocks swaying in the rooftop living area and the stylish and spacious suites.

Mark and I have been collecting homes in beautiful places since 2007 in Italy and Mexico. We buy them, fully restore them, and make them available to guests! We love doing this and sharing them and take great pride in doing so!

Sayulita, Riviera Nayarit

Tacos, tortillas and chocolate-dipped bananas

It’s all about the sea here in beautiful Sayulita, a quirky, hippy and very desirable Mexican Riviera town with cute shops and a buzzing beach scene. Kids can play, dig, whale watch and spot sea turtles; for parents there’s surf, yoga and stand up paddle boarding as well as a relaxing pace of life.

Hard to believe but this place is even more beautiful in person! The house is perfectly located just above town with absolutely spectacular views. It was super easy to pop down the hill for coffee or dinner or to go to the beach for the day. It truly felt like nothing was more than a 10-20 minute walk. Ernesto was beyond wonderful and helped us with everything from getting to and from the airport to coordinating meals with the fabulous cooks. We had an amazing stay from start to finish and can not wait to come back!

This is a beautiful home in a spectacular location. The weather was perfect, the outdoor living was incredible, and the location at the top of the hill made for some spectacular star gazing (and even fireworks one night!). We were close enough to town to walk down almost daily, but far enough away to have quiet and privacy. Abi was an incredible cook for our dinners! Arranging transportation, a golf cart, meals - it was all easy and made the trip truly a relaxing getaway.

We had such a great time at Casa dos Chicos. Two families with children ages 5-10. We walked down and up the hill numerous times to go to beach, and tour town. We didn't rent a cart as once we learned of the stairs about mid way down the hill it was a less than 10 minute walk to all that Sayulita offers. The views are amazing. The outdoor living on top floor made for fun times day and night. Pool was warm and the kiddos wouldn't get out. We reserved to Maga cook all of our dinners each night of our stay and multiple breakfasts and her cooking never disappointed! Each night we looked forward to the amazing authentic dinner we would have prepared for us. Maga and the entire Dos Chicos team were very friendly and helpful for our stay. The house is close to town, so at night expect to hear the bass of the dance clubs and amusement park to be heard, but all to be expected with the location of the property. Thank you to Patrizio, Ernesto, Maga, and the rest of the team that made our trip such an amazing one! We will definitely be back!

The space is beautiful and well appointed. Our kids were 6, 8, and 10 and the high bridge linking the 3rd floor outdoor living space made us a little nervous with our 6 & 8 yo boys. Additionally the rooms were each quite separated and opened straight to the outdoors/pool with glass doors that could be locked from the outside. So it is great if you have an adult sleeping in the room with a younger child but more challenging if you are using the rooms for young kids to sleep on their own. Patrizio was very helpful and the golf cart rental was fantastic (highly recommend!).

Loved our stay at casa dos chicos! The rooftop living room and small pool/hot tub was perfect for our kids. The view is unbeatable and the house is extremely walkable to town. The staff took such good care of us... we would love to return!

We had a fantastic week at Casa Dos Chicos. It is a perfect place for families with older children. Our children are already asking when we can return, and we look forward to staying there again!
