Shepherd's Bush, London

Sightseeing, shopping and playing

Conveniently located 30 minutes from London's most famous attractions (Buckingham Palace, British Museum, Covent Garden, the Natural History Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum and Trafalgar Square), Shepherd's Bush is a residential area in central London. Westfield, Europe's largest shopping centre is in its borough and there are several local parks great for kids, along with family-friendly eateries and good Tube connections.

Marcus's home was lovely and the perfect stay for our trip to London! Not in the hustle and bustle of tourist areas but a short train or bus ride away from all the major spots. We felt part of the neighborhood! The private garden alone was worth it! No AC in the flat of course as standard in the area but thankful for the strong fan in the front room to keep air flow. Our son (only 2.5) didn't like the high loft in the bedroom since it was hot but he slept on the floor on blankets and pillows in the main room, which was just fine. The big teddy bear was a HIT. Marcus also left out a little potty which was great since we were working on potty learning. 10 min walk from a great playground with an inground trampoline (Wormholt Park) and some great restaurants. If we are back in the area I will def stay again!

York House is a comfortable little gem in Shepherd's Bush that reminded me of areas in Brooklyn. Though there is no sitting room, the kitchen/dining area is spacious - as is the exterior garden - so we never felt cramped/there were plenty of locations to stretch out. We traveled with our two teenagers and felt the apartment accommodated us perfectly. A 10 min max walk to the Shepherd's Bush Market stop made it easy to maneuver all over the city. Lastly, but most importantly, Marcus was kind and communicative.

We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning. The flat is charming with a garden and small fish pond, our toddler son loved feeding them. It is also near a Tube station making it easy to get around. Marcus was a very hospitable and responsive host, including setting out a highchair in advance.

The flat fit well for our family of 4. The 3-year old thoroughly enjoyed the child's room with the many books and toys. The baby happily used the provided travel crib and the high chair. There were only a few steps for the baby to navigate, and the flat is small enough that one can keep a watchful eye on crawling babies when necessary. There is a great playground a 10 minute walk away, quite close to grocery stores (including the one at Westfield Shopping Centre) that we used a lot. There are numerous bus lines that are close to the flat and 2 major tube stops, so we were able to get around the city quite easily. Finally, Marcus is a great host; while we were unable to meet, he answered all of our questions and helped us out when we were in a bind at the very end. York House is a good base for your travels.

My family of three had an ideal stay at the York House. Marcus was a very responsive and communicative host. The home is spacious and aesthetically pleasing - our daughter especially loved having her own little space to sleep and play. We had extremely pleasant weather during our stay, so the yard was a nice perk. We thoroughly enjoyed the neighborhood of Shepherd's Bush and found it very easy to travel via the Tube to other parts of the city. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the York House again, and would absolutely recommend it to friends and family!

My family of 4 enjoyed staying in this stylish, well-appointed flat. We appreciated that the place had many amenities that our 2-year-old boy would use and enjoy, including many toys and childrens' books, bath toys, a high chair, and a potty. The flat is well-situated in Shepherd's Bush, just a 5-minute walk to the Westfield Shopping Centre, and we had no difficulties finding many bus lines and Tube stations to get us around London. Marcus is a very responsive host who did not hesitate to help us. We stayed in the flat during a particularly cold weather spell and initially had some issues with the heating, but Marcus sent over a handyman to rectify the problem. He also provided us with a baby pram to use during our stay, which made getting around much easier.

We had a marvelous stay. The apartment is very handily located near a Tube stop and bus lines. It's also around the corner from a music school for children that offers drop-in classes. There are no stair gates, but otherwise it is a very charming child friendly apartment with lots of wonderful stuffed animals and a patio with fish for feeding.

We were very pleased with our stay at York House. The flat was perfect for us with our one year old son! Plenty of toys for him to play with, a safe and comfy crib and eating chair, and great bath tub with tub toys. Marcus the host was a delight, giving us a helpful overview of the flat and local area when we arrived and even leaving us some snacks. Solid location in a hip neighborhood, with easy tube access to central London. I would absolutely stay here again.
