The hosts have created a great setup for families, making this a hassle-free option for parents looking for a central stay to explore Los Angeles. Located in one of LA’s hippest neighborhoods, the deck offers awe-inspiring views of the city - the perfect place to relax after kids have gone to bed. The parents’ bathroom includes a Japanese soaking tub and you’ll find plenty of baby and toddler essentials to ensure everyone has an easy, relaxing stay.

Why Kids Love it

Everything is child-proof and safe for toddlers, and there’s plenty of toys and books for children under 8 - they’ll love the dedicated playroom! You’ll have access to an expansive deck with kids toys and an outdoor eating area, plus a large backyard with a swing set and lots of room to play. There are toddler high chairs for meal times and a portable baby high chair can be provided on request. Ask the hosts to borrow a travel crib or strollers to explore the city. Take the kids to day trips at Universal Studios, Walt Disney or Warner Bros (perfect for Harry Potter fans) - all less than 15 minutes away.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. Safety notes: there is a flight of stairs leading down to the front door as the house is on a hillside, plus another flight of stairs leading down to the backyard, so very young children may need assistance. Parking is available for 1 car - car rental is recommended. The residence comes with air conditioning, WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washer/dryer, baby monitor, changing table, stair gates and children’s utensils. The hosts have bikes for a 4-6 year old and a 7-8 year old, ask about borrowing them during your stay.

The space is mostly open plan, with beautiful views of Los Angeles, including the Hollywood sign and the Griffith Observatory. The primary bedroom boasts a kingsize bed and an ensuite bathroom, a kids' room with 2 twin beds (with bed rails) and a play room attached to the kids' room that could potentially serve as a sleeping area for another adult or child with a provided air mattress (single or double). The ensuite bathroom has a walk-in shower and soaking tub; the family bathroom has a shower-over-bathtub; the final bathroom (with shower) is located in the playroom.

Style Notes

California casual. Full of natural light and interesting details, this space emanates that laid-back West Coast style. Design touches include a newly-renovated kitchen with gorgeous views of the hills, finished with a chic breakfast bar and luxurious stainless steel appliances. Pops of color and a playful kids room add character to the neutral white palette. We love the blue kitchen cabinetry, the sleek marble materials in the bathroom and the cozy textured rugs.

Silver Lake, Los Angeles

Friendly and full of independent spirit

This eastside neighborhood between East Hollywood, Los Feliz and Echo Park, has great food, plenty of hipsters and chilled vibe that charms families and singles alike. Pick out your lunch at the Tuesday and Saturday Farmer’s Market at Sunset Triangle Plaza (a polka dot painted pedestrian zone), stroll or job round Silver Lake Reservoir, take pedal boats out on the lake at Echo Park Lake, or join a Family Art Workshop at Barnsdall Park, former haunt of Frank Lloyd Wright.
