Perks for the Parents

With views of the Sacré Coeur from its balcony, this family apartment in the attractive South Pigalle neighborhood is perfectly situated for an authentic Parisian experience. Just 7 minutes from the Gare du Nord for Eurostar and within walking distance of the opera, parks, major shopping and rue des Martyrs, it is convenient and easy for a short or longer break in the city. There is room for the whole family with 4 bedrooms and it is fully equipped for young children, with a family bathroom with bathtub and shower.

Why Kids Love it

Equipped for a young family, there are plenty of children’s toys and books in this residence plus a DVD player and DVD library, PS4 and a piano. The dedicated children’s rooms include a toddler bed and tasteful, calming decor. A movie theater, playing mainly English movies, is directly across the street. The property is walking distance to Montmartre, Parc Monceau and Parc de la Villette. A changing table, baby bouncer and baby bath are available.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. The apartment is on the fifth floor and there is an elevator. There are no interior stairs. There is a large balcony with a railing; supervision is necessary for younger children. A parking space can be arranged if needed. Wifi, PS4, DVD player, washer/dryer and dishwasher included. A double air bed can be provided. Car rental is not necessary as all main areas are easy to access by metro, bus and on foot from the location. The family has a goldfish and would like guests to feed it if possible.

About the Location

At the boundary between the 9th,10th and 18th arrondissements, the apartment is 7 minutes walk from Gare du Nord station, with Eurostar and RER B coming from both Paris airports, and is close to the Barbès metro station. It is 5 minutes from rue des Martyrs, a 15-minute walk to Montmartre, and 20 minutes with direct bus route to the 17th century Parc Monceau. There is a movie theater Le Louxor across the street and SoPi, a very attractive area with shops and restaurants, is a 10-minute walk away. Charles de Gaulle is 35 minutes away by taxi.

Accommodation Details

This family apartment, located between Pigalle and Montmartre, is on the fifth floor with an elevator. Laid out over a single level, it has a large balcony, open living/dining space with table seating 6, fully equipped eat-in kitchen with an additional breakfast table, 4 bedrooms including 2 with full/double beds, 1 with a toddler bed and 1 with a single (upper bunk) bed. There are 2 bathrooms, including a bathtub and washer/dryer.

Style Notes

Bright and open. This roomy apartment includes a large balcony overlooking the rooftops, and respite from the city noise when inside. The traditional parquet flooring, ornate molding and floor-to-ceiling windows create an authentic Paris experience, while the industrial furniture and modern decor are a pleasing contrast. We love the focal family library, black piano and gallery wall, and the light children’s rooms.

We are a family of 5 with 3 daughters, oops princesses ;) The oldest was born in 2009 and the youngest was born last year. We arrived in Paris in 2000 and in this specific area in 2005. We love it and are sure you will too !

South Pigalle, The 9th arrondissement

Bourgeois, bohemian and beautiful

So-Pi is one of Paris’ hippest districts, complete with fashionable boutiques, a bo-bo crowd, romantic squares and grand mansions. The jewel in its crown is rue des Martyrs, a foodie paradise of gourmet shops and cafés including a Corsican delicatessen and a bakery serving the best baguettes in the city. For kids, there’s a small park where the road crosses Notre Dame de Lorette.
