Perks for the Parents

This luxurious and handsome residence in Southold sleeps up to 10 + 2 and is set on an acre of private grounds with a saltwater pool and hot tub, just a 10-minute walk from Kenney's Beach. A large master suite on the ground floor has French doors leading out to the pool and is great for parents. The luxury kitchen has a Wolf stove, wine fridge and Kitchen Aid mixer, perfect for cooking and enjoying dinners in any one of the 3 dining spaces (2 indoor and 1 outdoor). The large pool lies in a beautiful garden of lush foliage and established greenery and there are several sun loungers to soak up the sun. If you’re travelling with another family or grandparents, a secluded guest loft above the garage has 4 beds, a living area and a full bathroom.

Why Kids Love it

The house has been set up for maximum kid fun so parents can relax on vacation. There is a dedicated play room for children with a tepee, a table and chairs for art projects, a mini chalkboard, bean bag chairs, and plenty of toys and books. There is also a small TV so the kids can watch a movie or their favorite show. A carpeted nursery is full of books and toys. There is a garden to explore, a pool and a huge playground jungle gym with swings for toddlers and older kids, a rock climbing wall, binoculars, a slide, monkey bars and a sand pit. There is also a little hideout with a picnic table within the structure. Beaches are within walking distance, even for little legs.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 weeks. The pool has an automatic cover which should be used when the pool is not in use to keep kids safe. There is a baby gate at the top of the stairs in the main house. There are 2 cribs for babies - 1 is a travel crib. There is also a baby monitor, baby bath, children’s dinnerware and a high chair. The local beaches are Southold Town Beaches and residents and guests can obtain a beach sticker for exclusive parking here. The landscaped gardens are sprayed for ticks and mosquitoes with an organic formula every month.

About the Location

This house is located in Southold in New York state. It's 2 hours by car to the heart of Manhattan and 1 hour, 30 minutes from John F Kennedy International Airport. Kenney's and McCabe’s beaches with views of the Sound are 10-minute walk away. Many of the best restaurants, wineries with wine tasting and beaches are under 20 minutes driving from the house. The house sits on just over an acre of land and has a private gated-entry, driveway and a 3-car garage. Car rental is recommended in this area.

Accommodation Details

The residence has a main house, plus a guest loft with a kingsize bed and 2 twin beds. The main house has a kitchen, 2 dining rooms, a living room and a playroom. A master bedroom with kingsize bed has doors to the garden and is on the main floor. Three further bedrooms are on the next floor: 1 bedroom with a queensize bed; 1 with a double bed, and 1 with a crib. On the second floor, there is a movie room with a sofa and TV. The guest loft has a kingsize bed, 2 twin beds, a living area with a sofa, TV and wet bar and a full bathroom. The grounds include a full-size saltwater pool with a built-in hot tub, a grill, dining furniture and a playground for the kids.

Style Notes

Elegant luxury. Accessed down a beautiful driveway and inspired by the California casual aesthetic, the house has been designed using neutral tones and warm textures, with the colorful, fun playroom being the exception. Large windows allow in plenty of bright, natural light and the house has clean lines, yet is traditional and comfortable. We love the hanging rattan chair on the outside porch, the eat-in kitchen with high ceilings, and the calm neutrals that invite instant relaxation.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
This property has a strict cancellation policy. 30% of the total cost of the stay is payable on booking acceptance. The balance payment is then due at 60 days before check in. If the check in date is 60 days or less before check in, 100% of the total cost of the stay is charged. Once a booking is accepted, no refunds are given. If a guest wishes to cancel 60 days or less before check in, 100% of the total cost of the stay is payable and non refundable.

Buy fruit and vegetables by the side of the road, play on the beach and visit local vineyards. The kids will love the ice cream, the carousel and boardwalk in nearby Greenport; you’ll love fresh clams and rosé with a view of the ocean.
