This secluded, tropical sanctuary is in prime location for local beaches. It has luxurious living spaces, a shady veranda, private spa pool and sleeps 8. This is a place to truly rest and recharge with a private chef and staff on hand. A yoga shala lies at the end of the garden boasting a 360-degree panorama of the surrounding paddy fields. The bedrooms are relaxing and cool with teak floors and pretty locally-designed soft furnishings.

Why Kids Love it

Kids will love the t-shaped infinity pool and little kids will like playing on the steps that lead down into it. The gardens are spacious with room to run around and there is a vegetable and herb garden. Little kids who like to be near parents have a bedroom with an adjoining door. There are plenty of family-friendly beaches within a short drive including Dalawella beach (7km from Galle) where you might spot turtles. Further afield, you could take a safari at the Udawalawe National Park.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 days. All the bedrooms have teak floors and windows, air conditioning, overhead fans, mosquito nets and ensuite bathrooms with walk-in showers. A private chef and staff are included in your stay. A baby crib with a mosquito net and a highchair are available on request. Nannies, drivers, therapists and transportation are extra services and are not included. Check-in from 14:00 and check-out by 11:00. The nearest international airport is in Columbo (approx. 2 hours, 15 minutes by car).

About the Location

This residence is located near Heenatigala Junction, in the southern province of Sri Lanka. It is close to Unawatuna Beach and Jungle Beach resorts and the UNESCO World Heritage site, Galle Dutch Fort (about 20 minutes away). Here you can enjoy the architecture of the lighthouse or clocktower, watch the sunset from the Fort windows or explore Pedlar Street’s art galleries, boutiques, gem and spice stores. Nearby, you can take an elephant ride, join a guided bike tour, enjoy exceptional dining and explore the colorful markets.

Accommodation Details

This residence has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms on 1 level. Beyond the veranda is a sitting room with a sofa, chairs and dedicated desk area. Theis opens to a well-appointed kitchen. On the other side is a marble bathroom with a walk-in shower with shared cases to the TV room. Next door is bedroom 1 with 2 single / twin beds, cupboard space and a mirror. It has an ensuite bathroom with twin basins, storage space and a safe. There is also a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. Down a few steps to the next building is a kingsize master bedroom and a bedroom with 2 twin / single beds. The bedrooms have an adjoining door. The twin bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a shower.

Style Notes

Tropical escape. Entered through private gates and surrounded by paddy fields, the Boundary House residence has its own spacious gardens. The house is shaped like a curved tear drop and consists of 2 buildings. The white colonnaded veranda is the perfect place to relax in the shade with a book, while the rooms are cooled by air conditioning and overhead fans. The sitting room has colorful art, a scatter cushion adorned sofa and comfortable chairs. We love the t-shaped infinity pool surrounded by paddy fields and bamboo that rustle in the breeze.
