Perks for the Parents

This luxe safari-style tent near Toulouse, France is surrounded by green trees, valley views, and a natural swimming pool. It sleeps 7 + 2. Part of a luxury rural camp, this ‘penthouse’ tent is set in a wonderful, natural environment - a place for kids and adults to switch off their phones, connect with wildlife, and make new friends. Parents will love the comfortable accommodation and spacious ‘rooms’ in different tents, allowing the whole family to enjoy the experience of camping in style. Older children looking for adventure can sleep over in the mini safari tent on their own, while little kids might prefer to stay in the main tent with parents. Either way, there’s space for everyone to have a little privacy and get a good night’s sleep. Parents with babies and toddlers are well catered for too: just ask the hosts for cribs, high chairs, changing mats, potties, and toilet seat adapters.

Why Kids Love it

This is a place for a real adventure. Sleep under the stars, swim in the natural pool, or roam the natural surroundings - kids will learn to run free and embrace the great outdoors. For young children, there are toys, games, a sandpit, pets on site, and wildlife to meet, as well as a shallow pebble beach area of the pool to paddle and splash about or hunt for frogs. (The pool also has a deep end with diving pontoon for bigger kids and teens). For older children there are acres of woodland to run around in and spaces to build dens. The local area is well known as a paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts, with activities such as kayaking, rock climbing and cycling nearby. On site they’ll find board games, books, table tennis, pentanque, and darts.

Things to Know

Open from May until the end of October each year. Minimum stays of 3 nights most of the year, but 7 nights starting on a Saturday from mid July until the end of August (please check before booking). Rates are seasonal – see calendar for details. This safari tent is part of a larger camping estate, Le Camp, which has 6 other tents available to hire, sleeping XX in total - check out our other Le Camp safari tent for rent). The natural swimming pool is fully fenced, with one access point at a safety gate (but no lifeguard). All guests share the swimming pool, so your children are likely to make good friends during their stay. There are animals on site: dogs, cats, goats and guinea pigs - all of them are very friendly and love to be fed and petted. The hosts also live on site. An optional continental buffet breakfast is available at 10 euros per adult / teen, 5 euros per child (free for under fives!).

About the Location

The safari camp is located 1.5 hours away from Toulouse, close to Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, Tarn-et-Garonne, in the Occitanie region of South West France. The nearest airport is Toulouse. A stunning and less well known area, it offers natural beauty without the crowds. Car rental is essential (parking is available on site) so you can explore the area. This region is ideal for outdoor sports, especially kayaking along the river Averyon, horseback riding or cycling. Nearby, there are fresh food markets, medieval villages, fortresses, castles, and vineyards - everything for a quintessentially French family holiday. The hosts can provide maps, guides and suggestions for local activities.

Accommodation Details

Mount Kenya is Le Camp's premium penthouse tent. Guests have access to the rest of Le Camp's facilities including the beautiful natural swimming pool.

Style Notes

Safari glamping. This luxury tent has been inspired by African safari camps, with hand-made or locally-sourced furniture and facilities used wherever possible. (Each of the safari tents on site are named after national reserves or parks in Kenya - Meru, Samburu, Maasai Mara, Tsavo East). Natural, comfortable, and clean, the penthouse tent layout is designed around the natural plants and surrounding views, to make the most of this beautifully scenic spot. We love the textured patterns used on the fabrics, the outdoor shower, and the hotel-style set up of the main room which creates a truly luxurious feel.
