Just 10 minutes drive from Universal Studios, this peaceful, design-led residence is set in beautiful gardens with an outdoor pool and a ‘casita’ play house full of toys to keep the kids entertained. It sleeps 5+3. The hosts have young kids themselves and have provided everything needed for a truly relaxing vacation, including toys, scooters and bikes, as well as sets of spare children's clothes to borrow. The residence is privately gated with a fully fenced back yard giving parents of energetic kids some extra peace of mind. There’s more than enough space inside and out for everyone to find some of their own, with numerous relaxation areas and plenty of run around space. Interiors are luxuriously styled with art, books, cozy fireplaces, several smart TVs, and a grand piano for the musically-inclined. The garden has palm spring vibes, with alfresco dining, an outdoor kitchen and a stunning outdoor pool with plenty of games. For those keen to explore, Studio City is just a 2 minute drive with some of LA’s best restaurants as well as a farmer’s market, beautiful parks and hiking trails suitable for all ages. The hosts can help arrange babysitters for parents in need of some time off.
Why Kids Love it
Designed with play in mind, this residence comes packed full of toys and games, carefully curated and organized by developmental age. The outdoor casita is currently set up as its own separate playhouse complete with a TV, toys and a fully stocked arts and crafts cabinet. The outdoor pool will provide hours of fun, with filtered salt-water which can be heated on request and will delight all ages with inflatables and pool toys to borrow. The chemical-free garden brings kids closer to nature, with a mud kitchen complete with running water and plenty of local wildlife to spot, including the magical hummingbird. Inside, the games continue with wooden and organic material toys in the bedrooms, as well as shelves of books, and a beautiful Oeuf bunk bed in 1, for sleepover style fun. For those keen to explore, there are bikes and scooters to borrow and beautiful Ventura Blvd on the doorstep with a farmer’s market, parks and kid-friendly hiking trails from nearby Wilacre mountain park. The hosts can provide a crib, highchair, baby monitors and other amenities for kids up to 6 on request.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 1 night. The residence is fully gated with remotes to operate both gates to the property. There are gas keys for all indoor and outdoor fireplaces. It is mainly set across 1 floor, with a short, ungated flight of stairs between the living areas and the bedrooms so little ones should be supervised. Please note that the pool itself is unfenced, however there are alarms on all doors accessing the patio. The pool can be heated on request, at an additional charge. Day visitors are welcome as long as their names and vehicle registrations are provided during the rental period. Guests are welcome to use anything left in the pantry or refrigerator, but please note that some of the closets house the hosts’ personal belongings. There is WiFi, air conditioning and a washer/dryer at the property for added convenience. There is private parking to accommodate up to 8 vehicles. Pets are welcome, please speak to the hosts at the time of booking if planning to bring a pet.
About the Location
The residence is located on Laurel Canyon Blvd, between Studio City and iconic Laurel Canyon with hiking trails and a trendy cultural scene right on its doorstep. The Studio City neighborhood is just 2 minutes by car, giving guests easy access to some of LA’s best restaurants. Nearby Ventura Boulevard offers up everything from classic sushi houses to stylish gastro pubs, while Wilacre Park is just a minute's drive along the canyon for panoramic views of the valley and hiking trails. For kids itching to hit the theme parks, the residence is within easy reach of Universal Studios and Warner Brothers Studios (both around 10 minutes’ drive). Hollywood Boulevard is a 12 minute drive with plenty of kids’ boutiques, independent stores and a vibrant restaurant scene. The 101 freeway makes it easy to reach other parts of the city, as well as the coast with Santa Monica a 30 minute drive away. The closest international airport is LAX, around 50 minutes by car.
Accommodation Details
The residence has 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms set across 1.5 floors. The central living areas are open plan in style, seamlessly connecting the back and front of the house. The main living room has sofas, chairs, a coffee table, fireplace, a TV and a piano. This space leads onto the dining area where there's a second fireplace, a table seating 4 and a chef’s grade kitchen off to the right, fully equipped with everything a guest would expect as well as a wine fridge, RO filtered tap water and an island seating 4. Large sliding glass doors provide access to the garden and dining patio for additional seating. A short flight of stairs leads from the living rooms to the 3 bedrooms. The primary bedroom has a kingsize bed and an ensuite bathroom, the second bedroom has an Oeuf bunk bed sleeping 2 and an ensuite bathroom and the third bedroom has a crib and 2 single beds sleeping up to 3 kids, and an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub. Outside, is a pretty patio area shaded by a pergola with an alfresco dining table seating 6 and a sofa area. Just behind is a lawn with palm trees and a large pool with sun deck and loungers. Next to this is a private casita with a summer style kitchen; it currently serves as a stocked playroom and kids’ art activity area. The upper area overlooking the pool has a custom built kids mud kitchen with running water. There is also a gas operated fire pit and a cold plunge tub for use at guest’s own discretion.

Renovated ranch style. A 1940’s Laurel Canyon home, recently renovated with state of the art contemporary design and a landscaped backyard with real palm spring vibes. Minimalist meets mid-century modern inside with a light, bright palette creating a simple, chic and uncluttered family base. Huge glass windows and doors flood in natural light, alongside lush garden views to create an oasis of peace and calm. Living spaces are open plan whilst maintaining a cozy feel with 2 working fireplaces and plenty of stylish seating. We love the back garden with its tropical palm-fringed pool area and pretty poolside casita giving the kids somewhere to hang out whilst the adults make the most of the LA sunshine.
