This outstanding family home with a pool, fitness room and stylish spaces in Tarrytown, five minutes’ walk from Lake Austin, is ideal for a stay in Austin. Well set up for a family stay, it has a full kitchen and great outdoor patio and grill for entertaining. The patio doors open wide and allow for seamless indoor / outdoor flow year round. Along with a stylish and modern master bedroom, there is an ensuite bathroom and sitting area. The kids' bedrooms and bathrooms are on the lower level off of the game room, making it a great place to play while parents relax upstairs. Downstairs, there is a full fitness room with 2 stationary bikes, a Pilates reformer, weights, bench and mats.

Why Kids Love it

The residence has plenty of toys, games, and books for children under 12. Kids will love the space to run, play and swim, and the kids bedrooms, set up with desk space, toys, books and more, right beside the games room. There are 3 parks nearby, including Zilker Park, easily reached by bike, and Lake Austin is a 5-minute walk away. Kids can have fun on the trampoline and cool off in the swimming pool, have lunch or dinner outside next to a turfed area perfect for playing. A pool table converts to a ping pong table for family tournaments. Inside, there is an Xbox and large TV in the game room, plus a baby grand piano so the kids are still able to keep up with music practise on their trip.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 week. Note that there is an additional fee for pool heating, on request. There is private parking for cars in the driveway. Note that this property is not baby proofed and does not have stair gates or a gate or fence for the swimming pool. Young children will need extra supervision. Rental equipment for babies (including cribs and high chairs) is available through Kid & Coe’s baby equipment rental partner. The property has high speed WiFi with excellent coverage throughout. No pets are allowed. No smoking. The house has air conditioning and ceiling fans. The house has a water filter and softener throughout. Please note that the state of Texas charges a hotel occupancy tax of 6%. And, the city of Austin charges a hotel occupancy tax of 11%. These taxes will be charged to the guest card separately when a booking is accepted.

About the Location

The residence is in Tarrytown, a safe, central upscale residential neighborhood of Austin, Texas. It is quiet at night. It is walking distance to a local favorite coffee shop and popular Tex Mex restaurant (2 blocks), and 3.5 miles/ 10 minutes by car from downtown Austin. The house is approximately 25 minutes from the airport (ABIA), 3 minutes from Lady Bird Lake, and a short walk from Lake Austin. Austin is a 2-hour drive from Houston, a 3-hour drive from Dallas/Ft. Worth, and an hour’s drive from San Antonio. Car rental is recommended but not essential for this location.

Accommodation Details

This contemporary, 2-story house has 5 bedrooms and 4 ½ bathrooms. On the first floor, there is a study with a beautiful writing desk and a comfortable seating area. The main floor continues with an open floor plan including a living room, kitchen, dining room and a baby grand piano. These areas open up through double sliding windows to the swimming pool and backyard, with 2 lounging areas and a dining area. The master bedroom is also on the entry level and has a kingsize bed and an ensuite shower room plus soaker tub. The 4 other bedrooms are downstairs off of the game room, and include 3 with fullsize beds and 1 with a queensize bed. The exercise room is also downstairs along with the pool table and an outdoor patio area with an artificial turf play area.

Style Notes

Bright and contemporary. This modern dream house is set over approximately 4,400 sqft excluding exterior patios and decks. There are hardwood floors on the main floor and exposed concrete on the lower floor, and the home is accented with art, music and books. Light floods through 2 clerestories on the main level. The décor is modern, uncluttered, and comfortable, and designed for a luxurious stay with everything taken care of. The kitchen is fully equipped and has an espresso machine; the master ensuite bathroom has pretty white tiles, a soaking tub, double sinks and a luxurious walk-in shower. We love the bold designs, the swimming pool and the stunning main living space, with double height ceiling.

Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
