In a historical building with a beautiful and large courtyard, it has a full kitchen and family-sized dining area and is bright and spacious. One of the best markets in Rome is just steps away. The immediate area has artistic and cultural centers, including the MACRO contemporary art museum, the Città dell’Altra Economia, Piramide Cestia, and the Aventine Hill, with Trastevere, the Colosseum and central Rome walking distance away.

Why Kids Love it

The residence is in a local, non-tourist-focused neighborhood that is incredibly family friendly, with a gated playground on the square just outside the building. Toys and books in Italian and English are provided along with movies for kids under 10. The apartment is central, giving easy access on foot or by Metro to the city’s key family attractions. Kids can play safely in the shared courtyard. The apartment is very quiet, far from the street, and is peaceful at night. And the best pizza in Rome is just around the corner. The kids can sleep in the lounge on a sofa bed and 2 travel cribs are available.

We are a family of three and we love to travel and visit old and new haunts. We live in Milan and we are delighted to share our apartment in Rome with families that will appreciate its atmosphere and good vibes. Our son is always happy to provide suggestions about things to do (and places to eat) in Rome.

We (parents, two kids, 7 and 3) stayed at the Santa Maria Residence in late April. The apartment was perfectly located for visiting all the sites that Rome is famous for. Testaccio is a great neighbourhood and the playground right across the street was well used by our kids. We were easily able to take a tram or bus wherever we wanted to go. The apartment itself is well appointed. The kids sleep in the common room, which worked perfectly for us. Sonia and Laura were very accommodating and we had no problems whatsoever.

Great apartment in a really good location in Rome. We 're a family of 4, with 2 kids under 9 and it was a great size for us, with the kids on very comfy sofa beds in the lounge, and us in the large bedroom. Excellent recommendations from Sonia for local places to eat. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at Sonia's flat.. It was beautiful and extremely comfortable. Everything you need and a wonderful neighbourhood...exploring a city all day with my toddler and then having a comfortable home to come home to was such a treat. I would highly recommend this flat to anyone, but especially those with young children.

We spent two nights in Sonias lovely flat in October this year, and could not have been happier with our choice! First of all Sonia is the perfect host, answering all our questions in advance, stocking up the kitchen with welcome gifts and sending us all the neighborhood recommendations in advance so that we could plan our perfect foodie weekend. The apartment has the most beautiful courtyard, and the surrounding neighborhood is absolutely perfect if you want to live like the locals and not feel like a tourist. The streets and squares filled up with adults and children alike, enjoying the warm autumn evenings. Grocery shopping in the area is amazing. It is close enough to the sights and the city center to walk, but we did take a taxi home as we were exhausted from running around all day. We enjoyed everything about our stay and would most definitely love stay here the next time we visit Rome! Thank you so much!

The apartment was the perfect home base for a family trip to Rome. The playground across the street, the large courtyard and the central location were so great with our 1.5 year old son. We walked everywhere in the city!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Testaccio. The apartment was perfect for our needs. Sonia and her sister Laura were extremely attentive, and had a pack and play, high chair and kids toys ready and waiting for us. The apartment was beautifully decorated and relaxing, and had a lovely courtyard to look out over while we had breakfast and for our daughter to run around in before heading out for the morning. The apartment is also located right across the street from a great park, where our daughter bonded with some little Italians on the swings. We used the apartment as a jumping off point to see all of Rome's sights (pretty much everything but the Vatican is within walking distance) as well as to enjoy the more local neighborhood offerings. Sonia gave us excellent restaurant recommendations, and we enjoyed the best pizza, gelato and craft beer Testaccio has to offer. If we return to Rome as a family any time soon, we will be giving Sonia a call! Thank you for everything!

We loved our time at Sonia's place. The house is very tastefully renovated with beautiful furniture and lighting. We were 3 adults, 1 child and 1 baby and the apartment accommodated us very well. The neighborhood was great with amazing food and the building is a wonderful, historic building in Testaccio. We walked everywhere with the stroller. Sonia has been extremely helpful with tips about the area and accommodating our needs. What made a huge difference in making us feel at home instantly, was the groceries shopping she offered us. We arrived late and tired and we had everything we needed for the first night and breakfast next morning. A really nice stay at an authentic Roman neighborhood!! We would stay at this appartment again.
