It sleeps 4 + 2. Located just 1 street away from the famous Place des Vosges and Place de La Bastille, the apartment is the perfect base for exploring the city on foot, or scooter. For downtime, there's plenty of space to relax and unwind with a colorful open plan living area including a TV, iPod dock, workspace alongside chic, modern design. The fully equipped kitchen is screened by a glass window providing separation while maintaining a sociable feel. The host is happy to provide insider info on the best places to go and can help arrange everything from a pre-arrival fridge stock to champagne and chocolates on arrival.
Why Kids Love it
Set on a quiet side street, this bright and light residence is ideal for kids, providing a spacious and peaceful base for their city adventure. The apartment’s decor is cool and colorful with plenty of playful design to make the kids feel right at home. There’s a huge corner sofa with a TV for movie nights in, and an iPod dock for setting the playlist or enjoying some story time. There is plenty to explore on the doorstep including museums (many, such as the Pompidou, offering up activities for kids), cinemas, kid-friendly cafes and playgrounds. Place des Vosges is a 5-minute walk with sand boxes, slides and a jungle gym surrounded by elegant royal buildings. The host can provide a crib and a highchair on request.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 2 nights. The residence is on the first floor of a shared apartment building with an elevator. There is WiFi throughout and desk space for those who need to work. Portable fans are available during the summer months. The sofa in the living area can be made up as a double bed to accommodate additional guests on request. Please note that there is no bathtub. The host is on hand throughout your stay and is happy to help with restaurant and tour recommendations, as well pre-arrival fridge stocks and additional cleaning, at an extra charge; please provide 48 hours’ notice. Parking in a private residence with security access is available upon request at €39 per day, though a car is not necessary to explore the city with good public transport links closeby.
About the Location
The residence is located in the fashionable Marais district in Paris’s 4th arondissement. Known for its modern art and trendy atmosphere, there are many art galleries, fashion boutiques, design stores and cozy cafes within walking distance. The local area is partly pedestrianised on Sundays and public holidays, with Place de Bastille just 5 minutes on foot. Elegant Place des Vosges is just around the corner (around a 5-minute walk) with space for picnics and a sand pit for little ones. The Picasso Museum is a 10-minute walk while the Pompidou and The National Art Musuem, with trails and activities for kids, are both a 20-minute walk, or 7 minute cycle. There are several metro stations under 10 minutes’ walk including St Paul and Richard Lenoir, as well as many bus stops which will get you to Notre Dame in 10 minutes. The closest international airport is Charles de Gaulle, around 1 hour’s drive; Gard du Nord for Eurostar train services is 25 minutes by car.
Accommodation Details
The residence has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom set over one floor. The central living area is open plan in style with a large corner sofa(bed), a coffee table, a TV, an iPod dock, a work desk and a dining table seating 6. The kitchen is cleverly screened by glass and is fully stocked with everything a guest would expect including a dishwasher and a coffee machine. The second bedroom leads directly off the living room and has a double bed with shelf space. The primary bedroom has a queensize bed and a wardrobe. There’s a shared family bathroom with a shower, and a hairdryer, and a separate toilet for added convenience.
