This sophisticated townhouse in the 14th arrondissement has a big kitchen, lovely courtyard garden and unique features throughout. It sleeps up to 8. The very private and quiet garden studio is a lovely office space for those who need to work while away, or a peaceful spot to begin or end your day with some tranquil reading over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The large master bedroom with its painted ceiling, large bed and cascading staircase is unusual and truly romantic.

Why Kids Love it

Kids will adore their room right at the top of the house. It has 2 single / twin beds with shelves full of books and toys. The little garden provides an outdoor space to run or play hide and seek. The 37-acre Parc de Montsouris (15 mins on foot) is a lovely green space with a big lake and wildlife. Or the Luxembourg Gardens aren’t too far away for an excellent children’s playground with climbing equipment, slides and a great zipline. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants around the area.

Things to Know

Safety notes: there are ungated staircases making this apartment unsuitable for active toddlers. There is a lot of carpeting in the home that requires frequent cleaning and there are some decorative items at a reachable level for smaller children. There is a spiral staircase in the master bedroom that will be blocked for use during stays. There is a basement with a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. All stays include professional housekeeping, linen, towels and toiletries, meet and greet and a concierge service. Fly into Paris Orly international airport, a 15-minute taxi ride or by train to Gard du Nord (30 mins by taxi). Car hire is not necessary to explore the city.

About the Location

This residence is located on rue d'Alesia in the Petit-Montrouge quarter (14th arrondissement) of Paris. There are shops, cafes, restaurants and bakeries near the apartment. Rue Daguerre is also a 15-minute walk away for shops and eateries. The most well-known local attraction is the Paris Catacombs that attracts long lines and is 12 minutes’ walk. The Luxembourg Gardens and palace are 30 minutes by foot and worth a visit. The Giacometti Institute, celebrating the life of the artist, is wonderful and is 15 minutes if walking. To get to central Paris, it’s a short walk to Alesia metro station where line 4 will take you to Notre Dame cathedral in 10 mins.

This townhouse has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and is on 3 levels. It has a private courtyard garden with a table and 2 chairs, as well as a separate studio with a desk, armchair and glass doors to the garden. The open plan kitchen / diner has a dining table seating up to 8. The living room has a TV, desk, armchair and paintings. On the 1st floor is bedroom 1 with a kingsize bed and an ensuite shower room with a large walk-in shower, basin and WC. Bedroom 2 is a kid’s room with 2 single beds. On the 2nd floor is a family bathroom with a tub, overhead shower, basin, bidet and WC. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed, and armchairs. This floor also has guest bedroom with a double bed.

The living room has classical style and elegance with a decorative fireplace, chandelier and antique pieces that mingle with modern furniture. The kids’ room allows children their own private space. We love the magical master bedroom with its painted ceiling and large windows looking out to treetops, the stained-glass windows in 1 of the bathrooms, and the peaceful garden studio.
