Perks for the Parents

Stay in the sought-after Saint Germain district, within walking distance of Saint Sulpice and the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens. It sleeps 6. Three ensuite bathrooms means there’s no getting-ready delays in the morning, and the open plan set up in the living areas allow parents to keep an eye on little ones while cooking. This is also one of the best locations for visiting some of the capital’s artistic destinations: Le Marais, Notre Dame, and The Louvre are all less than half an hour away by metro.

Why Kids Love it

Although the apartment doesn’t have toys or books for kids, it’s well placed to explore the prettier parts of the city. It’s around 15 minutes’ walk to Luxembourg Gardens, where you’ll find a playground, tennis courts, a puppet theater, sailboats, a 100-year-old carousel, art sculptures and 3 museums (including mineralogy and modern art). There’s also another small city playground just 5 minutes away on foot. Culture fans will enjoy a trip to Notre Dame (10 minutes by metro or 20 minutes’ walk) or the Natural History Museum and Zoo within the Jardin des Plantes (15 minutes by metro).

Things to Know

No smoking, pets or parties. A dog usually lives here so those with allergies should be aware. The apartment is located on the second floor with no elevator. The airport is less than 1 hour away by car or train.

About the Location

Situated on one of the 6th arrondissement’s most soulful streets, the historic Rue du Dragon, this area is known for its thriving café culture and some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the picturesque and family friendly Jardin du Luxembourg. It’s under 5 minutes’ walk to the Saint-Germain-des-Pres and Saint Sulpice metro stations.

Accommodation Details

The apartment has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Creative zoning provides a sense of separation between the lounge and TV area and dining table, which offers relaxing views across the treetops. The bright, white kitchen boasts a large breakfast table perfect for snacks. The primary bedroom has a kingsize bed, ensuite bathroom with bathtub and shower plus an artistic reading nook; the second bedroom has a double bed and ensuite shower room. Accessed through the living room, the third bedroom has a kingsize bed and ensuite shower room.

Style Notes

Geometric flow. The home is beautifully designed with an open plan layout, period features and eclectic modern toning of colorful layers. Characterful beams, light wood floors and a clean white aesthetic look fresh in the dining area, where statement shelves and abstract artwork add interest. We love the contemporary tiling in the bathrooms, the unique wood paneled ceiling in the living area and the clever integrated units in the kitchen.

The 6th arrondissement, Paris

Sail boats, boutiques and a charming atmosphere

Considered one of ‘the’ quintessential Parisian neighborhoods, the 6th arrondissement includes the Latin Quarter, the Luxembourg Gardens, famed cafés and streets once walked by artists and writers. For a taste of local life, visit the Musée de Cluny, explore the side streets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and sail boats on the octagonal pond at the Luxembourg Gardens.
