This honey-colored Cotswold home showcases the best of contemporary living in a beautiful rural setting and is well set up for kids. It sleeps up to 7+ 1. The house is comfortable with bright, open living spaces in a peaceful and private spot. All the bedrooms look out over paddocks and rolling hills. The spacious primary bedroom has an American kingsize bed with its own ensuite bathroom. This home is heated by the energy efficient Samsung air-source heat pump, providing underfloor heating downstairs, electrical underfloor heating to all first-floor bathrooms, and radiators to serve the 4 bedrooms.

Why Kids Love it

The residence is a perfect home for babies, toddlers and children under 10 to enjoy. The nursery has a changing table, a baby bouncer and play mat. There is also a high chair and baby cutlery available, along with a baby with activity board. It’s a short walk from the village playground. Or if you fancy a day trip, the Cotswold Wildlife Park, where you can get eye-to-eye with rhinos and giraffes, and Crocodiles of the World are only a 20-minute drive away. Alternatively, Bibury Trout Farm, where kids can catch their own trout, and the Cotswold Farm Park are approx. 30 minutes by car. Another local favourite is Rectory Farm, where kids can go strawberry picking, followed by cake and snacks in the café.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights. There is outside space for parking with security lighting. The house is safe and secure for children and completely enclosed for pets. A baby stair gate may be available - please check with the host when booking if required. Pets are permitted on request. Fly into London Heathrow, approximately 1 hr, 30 minutes’ drive. A car is recommended to make the most of your location.

About the Location

Ascott-under-Wychwood is an attractive highly sought-after village on the edge of the Cotswolds in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Evenlode Valley, Oxfordshire. It is easily accessible by car or train. Catch a train from the village station to London or there is a direct train to London Paddington that leaves from Charlbury station, a 7-minute drive away. You’ll be a 5-minute walk to a lively village pub and a well-stocked village shop, not forgetting a playground for the kids. The Wild Rabbit pub in Kingham, and the other pretty Cotswold villages of Daylesford, Stow-on-the Wold, plus Soho Farmhouse and Estelle Manor are all within a 10 to 20-minute drive.

Accommodation Details

This residence has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms on 2 floors. The Shaker-style kitchen has quartz worktops and integrated Siemens appliances, including oven, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher. There is a centralised island and breakfast bar. It is open plan to the dining room with a table that seats 10, and doors to garden. The utility room has a washing machine and dryer. The separate living room has sofas and a TV. Upstairs, there are 4 bedrooms: 1 kingsize, 1 kids’ or teenager’s room with a bunk bed plus a trundle bed (sleeping 3), a nursery with a crib and a playroom with an extendable double day bed that could comfortably sleep 2 adults. The primary and kids’ bedrooms benefit from ensuites with a family bathroom serving the rest. It has an oversized soaking tub for children and a rain shower. Externally, this property has a grassy rear garden with lounge seating and triple garage with an electric vehicle charger.

Contemporary Cotswolds. This residence is beautifully styled. Enter this residence through an entrance hall flooded with natural light and an impressive, glazed screen. The house is furnished with American-sized furniture from Restoration Hardware, making it very comfortable. The décor is warm and neutral with pops of color in the kids’ rooms. State-of-the-art electronics include the home cinema projector in the living room for movie nights. The separate living room provides you with additional entertaining space, whilst giving you the opportunity to escape and relax. We love the whimsical paintings and photos throughout, the large kitchen and the panoramic countryside views.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
