This house is a dream for children, with dedicated kids rooms furnished with books, toys and a large play area outside. The open plan living space means little ones can play while you prepare meals and the hosts can provide a play pen, high chair, baby toys and a baby bath on request. It’s a short walk from the beautiful surrounding natural areas (including forests, heathland and water for canoeing or boating) as well as local playgrounds.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 2 nights. Safety notes: the stairs to the attic are steep, not suitable for toddlers or elderly family members. There is a stairgate on the ground floor to prevent babies and toddlers from climbing up. Parking is available on the driveway and in the street, although car rental is not essential. Smoking and pets are not allowed inside.
About the Location
The house is located in Kortenhoef, part of the Vecht region, nestled between Amsterdam and Utretcht (both cities are half an hour away by car). This region is known for its beautiful estates, castles, country houses, gardens, tea domes and other remnants from the Golden Age - view its beauty from the many bicycle and hiking trails in the area. The forest is within walking distance, as are the lakes nearby. Stores and restaurants are also accessible on foot and it’s just 10 minutes by bike to downtown Hilversum. The international airport in Amsterdam is 30 minutes away by car.
Accommodation Details
This house has 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, set over 3 floors. There’s a spacious kitchen with a breakfast bar, leading to a dining area for 8 and a cozy lounge corner. You’ll also find a separate side room/office space. Upstairs, the primary bedroom boasts a kingsize bed, a baby room with a crib (suitable for infants) and a second kids room with a toddler bed (suitable for ages 2 and up). There’s also a loft space, up a set of steep ladder steps, with 2 single beds - this room does not have a door so it’s best for older kids who can get around without adult help. The family bathroom has a shower and a separate bathtub.
