Perks for the Parents

This beautifully renovated 18th century villa with views of the Tuscan countryside, unspoilt olive orchards, vineyards and charming medieval towns, is well set up for family travelers and has an infinity pool. With 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, there’s plenty of space for friends and extended families. Guests can book a personal cook, welcome dinner, babysitter, grocery shopping, massages, breakfasts, private driver, professional photographers and tours. There are thermal pools and a world-class spa at San Casciano dei Bagni nearby.

Why Kids Love it

This property is spacious with lots of indoor and outdoor space to play, plus an organic garden and wild pear, apple and plum trees to pick the garden. There is an infinity pool, which has a shallow end for non-swimmers. Toys, dolls, balls, a cricket set, board games and a TV with DVD player and international cartoons and films are all provided. Family activities nearby include walking, horseriding, sailing, cycling and windsurfing. The local restaurants serve child-pleasing classic Italian dishes. A crib is available.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 4 nights except in high season (2nd week of June to 3rd week August) where there is a 7 night minimum. Rates reflect an occupancy of 10; extra guests including children over 2 are charged at $60 per person per night. The security deposit for this property is not taken on booking by Kid & Coe but is levied separately by the host on check-in. Some minor issues for small children: the pool isn’t fenced and there is a pond, but it is surrounded by thick vegetation. A stair gate can be installed on request in the property; there are some stone steps outside it also. There are 3 fireplaces plus central heating; note that there is an additional fee for heating in winter. Maid service is included. Parking onsite.

About the Location

The villa is just outside the hamlet of Trevinano, south Tuscany, just under 2 hours from both Florence and Rome airports. It is also around an hour from Siena and Perugia, both of which have airports. It can be reached by train from Rome or Florence. Car hire is recommended for this destination. Trevinano itself has 2 restaurants and a small grocery store; San Casciano dei Bagni is a larger town nearby with shops, a bank, restaurants, medieval streets and spa waters. There are plenty of interesting historic towns within a 10-15 minute drive.

Accommodation Details

This 5 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom villa has a spacious lounge, lounge-dining space, gourmet kitchen and outdoor space including gardens with an outdoor fireplace and barbecue, an infinity pool and a portico for outdoor dining around a stone table. The bedrooms are laid out with 4 bedrooms with kingsize beds and 1 bedroom with twin beds. The largest kingsize bedroom has 2 additional pull-out beds and can sleep up to 5 as a large kids room. Three of the bedrooms are ensuite.

Style Notes

Modern Italian design meets 18th century charm. This villa was beautifully restored in 2007 with the help of skilled local craftsmen from a dilapidated 18th century stone farmhouse to a contemporary retreat, with design-led furnishings and creature comforts combined with exposed wood beam ceilings and shuttered windows. We love the modern interior design touches, the glittering chandeliers and the brightly colored sofas.

Mark and I have been collecting homes in beautiful places since 2007 in Italy and Mexico. We buy them, fully restore them, and make them available to guests! We love doing this and sharing them and take great pride in doing so!

Trevinano, Tuscany

Rural, rustic and relaxing

This ancient village in Tuscany, near to the border with Lazio, has glorious hilltop views of the surrounding farmland, cypress trees and olive groves. This is a destination for rural and rustic relaxation, with homely restaurants, national parks and lakes on the doorstep, and daytrips to Tuscan villages.

We had a wonderful time staying at podero palazzo! Such a beautiful spot and the views were to die for. The house was well equipped with high chairs, baby gate for stairs and cot for our babies. Some board games and DVDs as well. Valeria was incredible, she welcomed us and prepared a wonderful meal. The accomodation was all of a high standard.
