Why Kids Love it

The number one benefit is the closest proximity to beautiful Tulum beach, which is easy to get to from the Aldea Zama neighborhood. The shared pool is great for kids of all ages, and is right out the front patio. The hosts provide a wonderful selection of children's books for all ages, along with videos and board games for old-fashioned family fun. Good eats can be had everywhere up and down the beach road. The hosts recommend La Zebra, a hotel with sand toys, a kids playground, new friends to be made, food and an outdoor shower. Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 days. The apartment is on the ground floor with sliding glass doors giving direct access to the pool, which is not gated. We recommend this property for those with non-crawling babies and children over 5 only - it is not appropriate for those with toddlers. Non-swimmers will need supervision at all times. There are no stairs but the floor can get wet and slippery. Getting around Tulum is better by bike; the residence is cycling distance to most activities and the beach. Car and bike rental is easily available from the residence, with rental agencies walking distance away. There is a private parking space. Taxis run to most locations in Tulum for a handful of dollars; Chedraui Supermarket is a 10-minute bike ride away. All the windows and sliding glass doors have screens; the apartment has 3 air conditioning units plus ceiling fans. A washer-dryer is included.

About the Location

The property is in a private, eco-centric neighborhood of Aldea Zama, Tulum, the closest residential neighborhood to Tulum beach, which is a mile and a half away. There is a paved bike/walking path on the beach street leading directly to Tulum beach and the property is close to Tulum Pueblo, Tulum’s main town, with boutiques, local shops, fantastic restaurants and banks. Tulum beach road is a long paved road that runs all the way south to Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve and has beautiful coastal beaches, chic boutiques, hotel restaurants and Tulum Ruins; all are accessible by bike. Other family-oriented attractions include mystical Cenotes, the Monkey Sanctuary and the area’s beach bars, yoga studios and child-friendly restaurants. The residence is 1.5 hours’ drive from Cancun International Airport; the hosts can arrange airport transfers on request.

We're traveling family. Travel is our passion and between the three of us (mom, dad and a kiddo) we have traveled a combined 66 countries around the globe. We've lived in Singapore, Thailand, Mexico from our current home base of Brooklyn, NY. Our 16 yo loves all water sports, snorkeling, diving, swimming, sailing, fishing. It is natural we're attracted to the water and ocean and now we're inviting you and your kiddos to come down Mexico-way and chill out at our beach retreat. We think Kid & Coe is a perfect match for us as we're all about friends and family. Also our son middle name is Coe; well enough said!

Tulum, Yucatan Peninsula

Beachfront cocktails and white sand beaches

Beautiful Tulum is a stellar destination for families. Walk barefoot on the white sand beaches, explore its famous ancient Mayan fortress and dive deep into cenotes for secret swims in turquoise pools away from the crowds. Fish fresh from the ocean and beachside cocktails make a day here complete.
