This secluded villa with a pool, 15 minutes from Florence, offers a romantic and luxurious take on Tuscany, surrounded by cypress, olive and fruit trees. Staffed with a house manager and a chef with a babysitter/nanny also available, families are well looked after. Lounge by the pool and eat outdoors, either by the pool and in-ground hot tub or in the pergola next to the orchard of fruit and olive trees. If the relaxing pace of the Tuscan life is too slow for your kids, there is lots to do nearby - visiting villas, gardens, delicious restaurants, and more. If you are looking for a city full of art museums, architecture, shopping and restaurants, Florence is just a short drive away.

Why Kids Love it

Young children will enjoy exploring the garden, finding fruit on the trees and smelling the rosemary bushes. Swimming in the infinity pool overlooking the hills is fun for all ages, while the hot tub is super fun for kids old enough to enjoy safely. There are plenty of attractions a short drive away in the Tuscan countryside and the city of Florence.. A crib, high chair, baby toys and a baby bath can be provided on request, and babysitting is easily arranged with the house manager and her family who look after the villa.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 days. The pool is not fenced, but it is isolated by lavender bushes and there are steps separating the pool and house. The pool is not heated but is very warm in the Tuscan sun and there is a brand new state-of-the-art in-ground hot tub. The 2 interior floors are also separated by ungated stairs. The house manager, Rossella, and her daughter Manuela, are wonderful with children and are available as a full time/on demand nanny. They both speak excellent English. The chef will prepare wonderful meals for the parents and kids to their taste. Car rental is essential in this area. The villa has central air conditioning, Erborio Toscano toiletries, a computer, WiFi access, SONOS sound and Apple TV, the kitchen will be stocked with basics, and there is a poolside welcome of Prosecco, nuts, fruit and canapes. Porter service and 4 hours of maid service are included daily, except Sunday. Guests’ laundry washed and folded on Monday and Thursday. Additional washing machine is available in the 4th bathroom. Upon request and for a fee, the hosts can arrange formal or informal dinners to be prepared, babysitting with English speaking member of their staff, cooking classes, Italian lessons for adults and children and arrangements for touring.

About the Location

The villa is 15 minutes east of Florence in the Tuscan countryside, between the villages of Monteloro and Citerno. It is 5 minutes from a grocery store, pizzeria and train station, and 15 minutes from the hospital and clinic in Fiesole. Sporty families can bring their rackets for a game at the Anchetta tennis court, 19 minutes away, workout clothes to the Four Seasons gym, 25 minutes away, or golf clubs for a round at the Ugolino golf course, 30 minutes away. The Forte dei Marmi beach is 90 minutes away. Florence airport is 40 minutes away while Pisa airport is 1 hour 20 minutes away.

Accommodation Details

This 5-bedroom villa is set over 2 floors. The master bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom, and the second bedroom, with a twin bed, pull out bed and an ensuite bathroom, are on the lower floor. The other 2 bedrooms (1 with queensize, the other with a twin bed) are on the upper floor and each has a private bathroom next to it. The fifth bedroom can be converted into either a kingsize, 2 twins or 4 bunks in an L shape configuration. Bathrooms include bathtubs and showers. The house also has an open plan lounge, kitchen and large living/dining room. There is a large hall and space to play on the main floor and on the upper floor; there is also a studio/office. Outside there are 3 terraces with sitting areas, dining areas, barbecue and views. There is a pool and an outdoor shower.

Style Notes

Modern Tuscany. The villa's interiors are luxurious and comfortable, with high beamed ceilings and large windows. Traditional fireplace surrounds and terracotta floors have rustic charm, while neutral rugs and upholstery create a calm, relaxing atmosphere in the living room. The dining room features the same garden views and a large inlaid-wood table, and the bright, open-shelved kitchen has a dishwasher, tabletop grill and cheery tile backsplash. We love the heavenly setting, the covered outdoor lounge and the spacious and luxurious bedrooms.
