Why Kids Love it

The Estate is set up with families in mind and there is plenty of space to run around and feel free. Kids love this property - whether it be to jump in the pool, chase geckos in the courtyard, play for hours on a beach, collect shells or pick fruit from trees. They can also spend time watching the fishermen at Porto Cesareo pull in their catch or checking out the local goats, from whom fresh cheese is made. Diving courses and boat trips can be arranged. The local pizza and ice-cream is a must. Even on the hottest August days there is always a breeze, making it suitable even for babies. There are several small supermarkets 10 minutes away. Fruits and vegetables can be bought on the way to Porto Cesareo, sold by farmers from the area. It is an ideal place to relax with breezes making it pleasant even in the height of summer.

Accommodation Details

The building is comprised of 4 spacious apartments, each with 1 or 2 double bedrooms, a living area, and some have a private terrace. In total, there are 6 double beds, 4 single sofa beds and 2 cribs for babies. There is a big courtyard with a shady pergola and BBQ, and a small water basin to cool your feet and kids to splash in. There is also a chapel and a fruit garden.

Style Notes

Simple Italian chic. While a unique set up, this slice of Puglia is a paradise vacation spot, with original stone walls, shaded terraces and flower-filled gardens. The owners, relatives of the von Trapp family, started renovating this family property 20 years ago to save it and put their heart into it. We love the easy-living charm, the palm trees and the shaded spots under the arches in the garden.

We are a german-italian couple, living in Bruxelles. For 20 years we have been traveling to Puglia as often as possible and a few years ago we started to restore the old family Masseria La Noa. We enjoy the sun there, the joy of life of the locals, the friendliness to families with children and of course, the good food.

La Noa was out of a dream. The moment we got there the kids were exploring the massive courtyard, delighting in the children's toys and books, chasing lizards and swimming like fish. The expansive space and pace of life slowed us down immediately. It was August and very hot so we mostly visited the beaches and took advantage of the local beach clubs. The warm water and easy service there was divine. Sophie set us up with excellent babysitters and a local chef who contributed to an even more luxurious vacation for us adults. We were only two families of four, but the home would have comfortably supported many more. It was a truly memorable experience and one that we wholeheartedly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at the masseria. Great location near the beach and accessible day trips to Lecce, Grottaglie, and more. Sophie was incredibly responsive to our requests both before and during our stay. Would highly recommend La Noa for anyone looking for a great group accommodation off the beaten path!

In 2019 we stayed in the La Noa residence during the summer holiday. It was a great place to celebrate life, friendship and the Italian summer. We were their with six kids and six adults and stayed in the residence for one week. Every family has his own apartment. We are dutch people and we met each-other in Italy a couple of years ago. Every year we travel together for a couple of days or sometimes one week. We had the idea to visit Puglia and saw this beautiful place on the internet. We booked directly because we loved the local atmosphere and the 'lovely details. We don't like enormousness luxury vacation and modern gadgets. The la noa residence is a wonderful place to stay. You have enough privacy to stay with more people. Every apartment has his own, beautiful terrace. But you can also live together in the courtyard. The water basin is great for the kids. And during the hit in the summer you can live inside when you prefer, because it's an old building and inside its really cool and comfortable. The owners are lovely and very kind! When there is something wrong they organize quickly and kindly something for you. For example they brought us at the first day water for the water basin from outside because the water pipe was broken. And after that they bring use some wonderful local ice-creams to apologize. Also the house-cook can make wonderful diners for you with local products. But there are lovely local shops to buy local home-made products to cook by yourself in the big kitchen. Conclusion its a wonderful place to stay with friends or family and celebrate life, friendship en and the Italian summer.

We truly enjoyed our stay at La Noa in August 2018. It is a perfect place for a reunion with friends or family as the individual apartments give everyone as much privacy as they want or need. The apartments are very simple, but cater to all your needs. Sophie was very contactable during our entire stay and was very helpful in answering any questions which we had about the surrounding area. She helped us to organise for a cook to come a couple of evenings which was very pleasant for all of us! The beaches are perfect for young children and are a short drive from the Masseria.
