When you’re ready to explore the area, this vibrant neighborhood has everything you could think of: world-class restaurants, family-friendly stores, Hollywood sights, independent markets and of course, miles and miles of sandy beaches.

Why Kids Love it

Kids will never tire of hanging out at this beautiful home. The pool is heated for year-round swimming, and there are lots of different areas to play and relax out in the backyard. The kids bedroom (with 2 single beds) has its own TV (with Apple TV and cable) so they can escape to their own room for chill-out time. This is also a really fun area for kids, with beach parks, cycle trails (you can hire bikes from the beach and cycle along the shores all the way up to Malibu) and surf/skate hire shops all nearby. Take the kids to visit the world-famous Hollywood sights (the Studios and the Walk of Fame are around 30 minutes’ drive) or hit the nearby Santa Monica pier, which has a fun fair, amusement arcades and an aquarium.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 30 nights. Rates range from $1750 to $2500 per night. 14% Occupancy Tax (plus 2.5% card processing fee) will be added to all bookings less than 30 nights and charged separately on acceptance. 50% of the payment is due upon booking. Standard check in: 4pm, check out: 11am. Early check in or late check out may be available on request for an additional fee. Safety notes: the swimming pool does have a cover but is not fenced and is accessible from the living room and kitchen. The cleaner will visit on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 1-4pm. One hypoallergenic dog lives at the property, so guests with allergies should be aware (although he will not be in the house during your stay). Please note: the central air conditioning is on the upper floor only. The lower floor features underfloor heating. This house has filtered water throughout. There is parking for 2 cars in the driveway - car rental is not essential as this area has plenty to see and do on foot. Please note that the lead guest (aged 25 or older) must be present at check-in with a matching ID and credit card.

About the Location

The residence is located 20 minutes’ walk from Venice Beach, California. This part of the coast is known for its bohemian vibe, with hippie markets on the sands, bodybuilders down at Muscle Beach and rollerbladers gliding along the shoreline. The house is just a few blocks from Abbot Kinney Blvd, which offers lots of independent stores and unique eateries, and it’s just a short stroll away from the Venice Walk Street area, where kids can play out in a car-free zone. Also nearby is Venice Farmers Market and the Venice Canals (both around 10 minutes’ walk). The pretty harbor at Marina Del Ray is half an hour’s walk, while bustling Santa Monica is a short 10-minute drive. LAX international airport is a 15-minute drive.

Accommodation Details

This house has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. On the ground floor, you’ll find a large open plan space which includes a kitchen, living and dining area. The kitchen has a stunning long breakfast bar with rustic wooden stools, which leads to a dining table and a cozy living area (with Apple TV and cable). This light-filled area leads out to the backyard, which features sun loungers around the heated pool, a hot tub and various seating areas and patios to enjoy the California sun. Also on this floor there is a separate WC. Upstairs, the primary bedroom features a kingsize bed, balcony and ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The second bedroom also features a kingsize bed, plus an ensuite bathroom with a roll-top bathtub and separate shower. Bedroom 3 has a queensize bed, and bedroom 4 has 2 single beds. The final family bathroom features a walk-in shower.

Style Notes

Modern meets boho. This warm and welcoming home blends laid-back styling with pared-back minimalism, together with a mid-century modern influence. Warm wooden textures in the living room feel cozy and enveloping, and the wooden kitchen cabinetry has a subtle retro feel. Patterned rugs and panelled walls and ceilings create a relaxed atmosphere in the living spaces, while the contemporary bedrooms have a more neutral, sophisticated feel. We love the black Crittall-style doors and windows, the delicate flower bathroom tiles and the contrasting yet complementary marble countertops which add an element of luxury.
