Why Kids Love it

This residence has plenty of toys and books for children under 10, and there’s a great family living space with enough for wheeled toys. They’ll love escaping to the studio in the backyard to set up their own dedicated play area with the hosts’ toys, or jumping around on the in-ground trampoline out front. It’s a short walk from local playgrounds and the children’s room is equipped with black out curtains. This is a great house for parents with younger children or babies: hosts can provide a pack-and-play, high chair, baby toys, baby bath, stroller, and a monitor on request. This area is laid-back and fantastic for families - visit the skate park at the beach, wander down to the lively Walk Street pedestrianized area, or take a ride on the amusements at Santa Monica Pier.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. The host may be able to offer a discounted rate for longer stays. Safety notes: the house does have outdoor stairs, and a cactus outside might be a concern for toddlers. The hosts may consider pets on a case by case basis - please check when booking. There is a 220 outlet available for electric vehicles and space to park a car, however car rental is not strictly necessary. The house comes with air conditioning (and ceiling fans), 3 adult bikes, 1 child's bike for a 5-6 year old and a scooter for guests to borrow, DVD player and DVD library, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and WiFi. Style Notes

Stylish sanctuary. Bright, warm, and sophisticated. The house has a beautiful front and back yard with fruit trees, as well as serene private spaces to sit and relax outdoors. A surprise outdoor shower and bathroom can be found outside - perfect for washing off sandy toes after a day down at the beach. The neutral yet warm and relaxed interiors reflect the laid-back vibe of the Venice Beach surroundings: natural wooden textures and patterned rugs are welcoming and comfortable. We love the escapist artwork in the primary bedroom, the chic contemporary bathrooms, and the vaulted ceilings creating a calm feeling of space.

I am a mother, a chef and a big advocate for sustainable and healthy living. Ben is an actor and finish carpenter.. and we are inspired by all that is creative and a source of healing in this world. We are currently creating community in the high desert of Joshua Tree while building our desert nook. Our home in Venice is our sanctuary and it has been blessed by many magical people who have come through! Welcome & make yourself home :-)

Canals and Beaches

Soak up the sights and sounds on foot or by bike at Venice’s Ocean Front Walk - a 2.5 mile impromptu stage full of colorful artists and characters. If you’re feeling brave, Venice beach is a great spot for beginner surfers, otherwise relax in the sand. When you’re done in the sun, explore the manmade canals modeled after its namesake in Italy. Watch for ducks as they dart through the many arched bridges over the canals.

Our stay at the Superba residence was excellent. It's a charming, low-key house with a lovely patio and garden and lots of spaces to kick back, watch the birds and sip a cup of tea. Sepi (our host) was generous with her time and expertise-- very available via text and super-helpful. The house is charming, full of light and has everything you'd want for a family. Toddlers/small kids would be thrilled with it; our tween-aged boys spent hours on the outdoor trampoline. It all has an earthy-cool vibe, perfect for Venice Beach. We would absolutely come back!
