This beautiful home is well-set up for a family stay, with younger guests fully catered for. There’s a stunning kitchen for easy at-home dining and a large dining area with high chairs. The house is in a walking neighborhood, with a kids park and playground just minutes away, and family-friendly eateries within easy reach for those days when you don’t want to cook.

Why Kids Love it

This residence has plenty of toys and books for children under 10, and there’s a great family living space with enough for wheeled toys. They’ll love escaping to the studio in the backyard to set up their own dedicated play area with the hosts’ toys, or jumping around on the in-ground trampoline out front. It’s a short walk from local playgrounds and the children’s room is equipped with black out curtains. This is a great house for parents with younger children or babies: hosts can provide a pack-and-play, high chair, baby toys, baby bath, stroller, and a monitor on request. This area is laid-back and fantastic for families - visit the skate park at the beach, wander down to the lively Walk Street pedestrianized area, or take a ride on the amusements at Santa Monica Pier.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. Safety notes: the house does have outdoor stairs, and a cactus outside might be a concern for toddlers. The hosts may consider pets on a case by case basis - please check when booking. There is a 220 outlet available for electric vehicles and space to park a car, however car rental is not strictly necessary. The house comes with air conditioning (and ceiling fans), 3 adult bikes, 1 child's bike for a 5-6 year old and a scooter for guests to borrow, DVD player and DVD library, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and WiFi. There’s also a piano and a guitar for music loving guests and younger budding musicians. CITY OF LOS ANGELES HOME SHARING REGISTRATION NUMBER HR19-0000427.

This residence has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all set on 1 floor. At the heart of the home, there is a spacious open plan kitchen/diner/living room. The commercial grade kitchen has 2 sets of French doors opening up to the front and back yard, and it’s fully equipped with everything you need for a self-catering stay, including a 6-burner stove, Subzero appliances, a juicer, vitamix and Kitchenaid mixer. This leads to a dining area (with table seating 6) and a cozy living area with a TV (Netflix) and a DVD player, plus a piano and corner sofa. The primary bedroom features a kingsize bed and space for a travel crib if required; the second bedroom features a queensize day bed and a single bed. One of the bathrooms has a large soaking tub, while the second bathroom has a luxurious walk-in shower. Outside, there is an unattached studio at the back with a work desk, yoga mats, meditation cushions, massage bed and lots of kids toys. There’s an outdoor shower and toilet, as well as relaxed seating areas, dining areas, a fire pit, and an in-ground trampoline.

Style Notes

Stylish sanctuary. Bright, warm, and sophisticated. The house has a beautiful front and back yard with fruit trees, as well as serene private spaces to sit and relax outdoors. A surprise outdoor shower and bathroom can be found outside - perfect for washing off sandy toes after a day down at the beach. The neutral yet warm and relaxed interiors reflect the laid-back vibe of the Venice Beach surroundings: natural wooden textures and patterned rugs are welcoming and comfortable. We love the escapist artwork in the primary bedroom, the chic contemporary bathrooms, and the vaulted ceilings creating a calm feeling of space.

Our stay at the Superba residence was excellent. It's a charming, low-key house with a lovely patio and garden and lots of spaces to kick back, watch the birds and sip a cup of tea. Sepi (our host) was generous with her time and expertise-- very available via text and super-helpful. The house is charming, full of light and has everything you'd want for a family. Toddlers/small kids would be thrilled with it; our tween-aged boys spent hours on the outdoor trampoline. It all has an earthy-cool vibe, perfect for Venice Beach. We would absolutely come back!

Canals and Beaches

Soak up the sights and sounds on foot or by bike at Venice’s Ocean Front Walk - a 2.5 mile impromptu stage full of colorful artists and characters. If you’re feeling brave, Venice beach is a great spot for beginner surfers, otherwise relax in the sand. When you’re done in the sun, explore the manmade canals modeled after its namesake in Italy. Watch for ducks as they dart through the many arched bridges over the canals.
