Perks for the Parents

This sunny designer loft apartment in northern Manhattan sleeps up to 8 + 1 and is a great base from which to explore New York, with easy access to the city and beyond. We love the bold, glamorous decor, the private roof terrace and large kitchen with counter stools. Nearby is Highbridge Park, J Hood Wright park, the historic Jumel Mansion Museum and many fantastic restaurants.

Why Kids Love it

This home has plenty of toys, books and craft supplies for young children, plus a pack‘n’play for infants. Kids bedrooms include 1 with a toddler bed and another with graffiti, illustrated wall art and a Gorillaz pillow. The private roof terrace is a great place to enjoy the sun, and kids will love the hammock chair and ukulele. There are parks and playgrounds to explore nearby.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 day. This is a third-floor walk-up apartment with no elevator. The building is private and secure and there is space to leave a stroller downstairs. The apartment is set over 1 floor. Car rental not essential with great transit links in the area.

About the Location

This residence is in the historic Washington Heights neighborhood of Northern Manhattan with great transport links. The express A, C and 1 trains are 3 blocks away, giving you quick access to all NYC has to offer. It’s also a 20-minute ride to Laguardia Airport.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom loft apartment has an open floor plan. It includes a chef’s kitchen, main living space with lounge/dining area, bathroom with tub and shower and additional beds: 1 double air bed, 1 single air bed and 1 travel crib. The master bedroom has a queensize bed, the second bedroom has a twin with trundle and the kid's room has a toddler bed suitable for those aged 7 and under. Outdoor space includes a private roof terrace.

Style Notes

Bohemian living. This is a bright airy loft with high ceilings and hardwood floor throughout and plenty of style and design quirks. The apartment is designed with comfortable mid-century modern furnishings, and the unique artwork make this a fun yet sophisticated space for all ages. Lighting strung from a piece of driftwood illuminates the dining table while black and white photography, tumbling hanging plants and quirky table lamps add interest. We love the eclectic style.

Beck is an amazing host, and made me feel like I was one of her long lost besties. The home is decorated fabulously in the mid century modern style. However, it's so comfortable and homey,. I'm still dreaming of snoozing on that fabulous leather couch. She even drew a map of the neighborhood, so I knew that everything I needed was in walking distance. It was really great. Thanks Beck!

Washington Heights, Manhattan

Gardens, views and the A train

This northern Manhattan community is a little removed from the action but all the better for it. River and cliff views are one-of-a-kind and this is the only place in Manhattan where you can see the area as Native American Indians saw it. Enjoy the space and light, play in Fort Tryon Park, with one of the city’s most beautiful gardens, or take the A train into Manhattan past the city’s prime spots: Central Park, Times Square, Penn Station and Tribeca included.
