The beautiful Westhampton Beach hideaway is walking distance from Westhampton village and beach and sleeps up to 11. Located just a block from Quantuck Bay, it offers a beautifully-curated seaside retreat for kids and parents alike. It’s walking distance from the village and the beach, making outings to both spots a breeze. Whimsical but modern decor offers a calming retreat for a vacation, while the ping pong table and foosball table are bound to keep the kids busy. With 4 ensuite bedrooms and a separate suite on the lower level, there’s plenty of space for a family to spread out during down time and then come together in the generous living areas of the house for family meals, either in the formal dining area or around the pool.
Why Kids Love it
The swimming pool offers a shallow area and steps to go in, so smaller kids will feel safe and children of all ages can splash around for hours. The hosts provide an array of games (board games, puzzles from 10 to 5,000 pieces, Rumikub and a doll house) as well as an indoor and outdoor blackboard for drawing. Bikes are available to borrow for jaunts to the beach, or grab the paddle board and walk over to the launch area in the bay just 200 feet away! When energy is running low, grab a pillow in the media room and get the family together for cozy movie time.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 2 weeks in the summer. Bookings will include pool and lawn maintenance and utilities. Safety notes: the pool is not gated and children should always be supervised in this area. The stairs in the house are also ungated. The pool is not heated. For young children, there is a travel crib and 2 clip-on high chairs. There’s private parking in the driveway for 3 cars - car rental is recommended. The house has zoned air conditioning on each floor to control temperatures. A monthly beach permit for the village beach (10 minutes’ walk from house) or a daily Southampton beach permit (10 minutes’ drive from the house) are available for an extra fee. Weekly housekeeping services are required for all stays for a charge of $200/week.
About the Location
This home is located in Westhampton Beach, in The Hamptons, New York. This seaside home boasts access to the bay just 200 feet away, and you can take a paddle board tour to a small island. It’s a 5-minutes drive from the nearest village for groceries and within walking distance to Westhampton beach and shops. It’s an easy walk to the best restaurants in town, including Flora, Star Boggs, Sydney’s and the best pizzeria on Long Island (!) - Brunetti. The house is also a short stroll away from some great home and decor shops, Good Westhampton and Hampton + Dunes. Every Saturday you can visit the perfect outdoor greenmarket with local produce, flowers and prepared foods. The house is about 1.5 hours from NYC via car or 2 hours via Long Island Railroad or Hampton Jitney.
Accommodation Details
This home has 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms over 2 floors. On the second floor are 4 bedrooms, 3 of which are ensuite: 2 guest rooms feature queensize beds, a third has 2 twin beds, and the final bedroom has 2 toddler beds. On the main floor is 1 bedroom with a queensize bed and an ensuite bathroom. Also on the main floor, there’s a gourmet chef's kitchen with a double oven for preparing meals of any size, and an island seating 6. The proper dining area has a large family table seating 8 - 10 people, while the comfortable media room has a smart TV and movies to stream in English or French. Outside in addition to the pool is a fire pit and a garden with herbs and tomatoes to enjoy.
Style Notes
Pared-back boho. This traditional cedar Hamptons house is the perfect blend of elevated yet casual and eclectic beach chic. Mid-century furniture pieces mix with breezy neutrals and punches of whimsical pieces of art. Linen sheets are on all the beds and Tunisian cotton foutas provided as towels lend a further Boho vibe to the house. We love the gorgeous natural light streaming in throughout the house and the artistic yet grounded decor, as well as the thoughtful touches added for kids throughout the house.
