Perks for the Parents

A short bike ride from the beach and Longshore Golf Course, with tennis courts and swimming pools, this elegant family home in Westport has plenty of space for all the family and a large garden. With spacious living areas, a basement play room with practise putter game plus all the chairs and coolers you could need for the beach, a stay here is a chance to relax and explore the Connecticut shore. There is a basement bedroom and bathroom that would work nicely for visitors or a nanny. The outside patio is perfect for outdoor dining and has a fire pit, so the kids can roast marshmallows while you listen to music. The Sonos system in the house allows for music to be played in every room and outside.

Why Kids Love it

The toys and games in the house appeal to toddlers up through teens. While there is no baby equipment provided, with the exception of a booster seat, there is plenty of room to bring a travel crib. There are tons of toys and art supplies to keep kids entertained. Items include Wii-U video games, foosball, board games and lots of sporting equipment. There is a soccer goal and trampoline in the backyard, basketball hoop in front, kids bikes, scooters, and everything that you need for the beach. Compo Beach, which has shallow waters ideal for kids, is a 10-minute drive away.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 weeks; maximum stay: 1 month. The house is set up best for children aged 4 and up; the 2 staircases are not gated. It is on a quiet dead-end street a short bike ride away from the beach and Longshore Golf Course (which also has tennis courts and swimming pools). There is keyless entry so no need to carry around keys. Car rental is useful in this area. It is walking distance to amenities including Fresh Market, Dunkin Donuts, Terrain Garden Center and Cafe, 5 Guys and Bagel Maven.

About the Location

The residence is in Westport, a 3-minute drive/15-minute walk from the main street, where there are shops, a theater and supermarkets. Westport is an amazing family destination in the summer, with a family-friendly beach, Longshore, Levitt Pavilion and lots of outdoor activities. Being a 5-minute drive from the train station means that if parents work in New York City, they can easily commute into the city for work. The station is a 1-hour train ride or 1-hour drive from Grand Central station. The nearest international airport is just over an hour away in New York City also.

Modern elegance. This stylish family home includes wide, bright hallways, and a palette of whites and greys throughout paired with dark wood flooring. Our family moved to Westport in 2014 from London and absolutely love it here! Its a beautiful, laid back beach town and the amenities here for kids and families, especially in the summer are too many to mention. Our house is great for BBQs, kids riding bikes down the quiet road, and playing in the huge basement playroom on the odd rainy day. We hope you love it as much as we do!
