This beautiful cabin in Windham, NY is set on 10 acres of private land, surrounded by picturesque mountain landscapes and world-class skiing. It sleeps 8. Welcome to a wonderful oasis of tranquility: this bright A-frame home offers families a chance to get back to nature, with open meadows, woods and a running brook as your own backyard. Dramatic views of the Catskill Mountain range and ski trails of Windham surround the house - in the cooler months you can enjoy 1,600 vertical feet of skiing on 54 trails and 6 terrain parks spanning 2 peaks. In summer, there’s 18 pristine holes on the Windham Country Club public golf course, as well as a huge choice of exhilarating hiking and biking routes to explore.

Why Kids Love it

The house has plenty of toys, blocks, board games and books for children under 10. It has a great family living space that kids can lounge in comfortably, while the surrounding 10 acres provides children the freedom to safely run around and explore nature (they’ll love swinging on a Swurfer outside!). For babies and toddlers, there is a changing table, children’s utensils, a high chair and outlet plugs. Nearby, kids of all ages will love visiting the Zoom Flume Water Park (15 minutes’ drive) and in winter they can try their hand at skiing or snowboarding at nearby Windham Mountain (8 minutes’ drive).

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. The house sleeps a total of 8 people including children. Safety notes: there are 2 sets of stairs in the house, from the mud room to the living spaces upstairs and upstairs to the loft bedroom. There are no stair gates. The hot tub on the terrace is securely locked. The house is not fenced, but it is located on 10 acres of private property on a dead-end, quiet street. There is plenty of space for parking - car hire is essential. The house comes with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, TV and WiFi.

About the Location

The house is located in Windham, one of the oldest small towns in the Catskills region of upstate New York. Established in 1798, this mountainous area is known as the gem of the region, charming visitors for over 2 centuries. Windham’s historic Main Street (3 miles away) is lined with locally-owned specialty shops and restaurants which makes it a great destination for a family vacation. The scenic geography provides lots of skiing opportunities, hiking trails and picturesque biking routes, including the popular trails of Windham Mountain Bike Park. It’s around 2 hours 15 minutes to New York City for international airports.

Accommodation Details

This residence has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. The spacious living area features a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area and a cozy living room. There’s also a second living area so everyone can have their own space to relax. The living area leads to an outdoor terrace with a dining table and a hot tub. There are 3 bedrooms on the main floor: 1 bunk room and 2 with queensize beds. The final bedroom is located upstairs above the living space as a loft (with 1 queensize bed and 1 single bed). The hosts also have 1 travel crib available.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.

Small town charm, ski lodges and outdoor adventures

Windham is in the heart of the Catskills with all the area has to offer on the doorstep: pretty towns for vegetable stalls and antiquing, hiking trails, swimming holes, and fabulous ski resorts in the winter. A great weekender spot for active families, you can be mountain biking, playing golf, fly fishing and hiking wooded trails. It's not bad if you prefer shopping, cooking, browsing pretty boutiques and reading books in a lovely location either...

We had a very lovely stay at the Blueberry Cabin. Cozy, warm even in a very cold snap (amazing hot tub in negative degrees! Kids loved the hot tub!) and all well thought out and pleasingly arranged. We were happy cooks in a well appointed kitchen. Any query was promptly answered. Memorable views of the sun rising in the mountains in the early morning hours. The rowing machine was highly appreciated! Thank you, Kasia.
