This stunning house in the woods is a 10-minute walk into Woodstock village and is close to classic swimming holes, lakes, ski resorts, and hiking routes. The large open plan living and dining space downstairs has cozy nooks, a wall of books to browse and views onto the woods, while a full sized kitchen with brand name appliances and vitamix make family meals a breeze. Bedrooms are set up to make it easy for 2 families to travel together, with 2 master bedrooms and 2 further bedrooms, a bunk bed room and a bedroom with trundle bed.
Why Kids Love it
The residence has plenty of toys and books. Kids love to play around the pond and hunt for frogs, and love to play in the woods. The children’s bedrooms can be configured to suit, with trundle beds and extra mattresses as needed. The house is equipped with a high chair and a crib and there are 2 bathtubs in the house.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 3 nights over holiday weekends, 1 week in August, and 2 nights at all other times. Note that there is no stair gate - the owners recommend the property for those under 1 or over 5. There are a few areas where children should be supervised: on the trampoline, around the pond and in the woods.
About the Location
The residence is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from Woodstock Village in the Hudson Valley. It is approximately 2 hours from New York City and LaGuardia Airport by car. Rhinecliff Amtrak station is the closest to the property, under 2 hours from New York City and 30 minutes by taxi from Woodstock Car hire is recommended to explore the local area, but not wholly essential. There are plenty of things to do in the area: apple picking, swimming holes, lakes, ski nearby, concerts and hikes.
Accommodation Details
This 4-bedroom, 2-floor cedar house has a large open-plan dining and living room area on the main floor. Upstairs, there are 2 master bedrooms (1 with kingsize bed, 1 with queensize bed), a bedroom with a bunk bed and another mattress, and another bedroom with a twin bed and trundle bed. A travel crib is also available on request. Doors open from the main living space to a deck with views of the woods; the property has a pond, which is fenced.

Modern cabin. This cedar house in the woods has clean lines and natural colors and shapes in abundance. The main living space has fabulous countryside views and a sculptural modern fireplace in the center. Bathrooms are luxurious and both have tubs, while bedrooms are cozy and simple for a great night's’ sleep. We love the cedar wood ceiling in the living space, the wonderfully sociable deck and the fantastic location for a 2-family stay in the countryside.
