Perks for the Parents

Well set up for a family stay, with a full kitchen and a large island that seats 5 and a dining table that seats 6. The 2 bedrooms on the ground floor are loved by teenagers as the primary is on the 3rd level. Ideal setup for nanny and kids. There is a large jacuzzi tub in the guest bathroom as well as a huge walk in shower. Large grassy field outside is great for outdoor games. There are soccer goals, frisbees, bat and ball sets, a trampoline for outdoor activities and very close to some great swimming holes to cool down.

Why Kids Love it

There are some toys for 5-to-12-year-olds, as well as a trampoline, soccer balls, goals, frisbees, bats and balls for garden games on the large grassy field outside. They’ll find childrens' books to enjoy at bedtime, plus a large jacuzzi bathtub in the guest bathroom, and they’ll love the kids rooms (and there’s lots of closet space to bring all their essentials along). This area is also a prime location for kids, with a playground nearby, swimming holes to try outdoor dips in the warmer months and the beautiful Woodstock Waterfalls through town for picturesque walks.

Things to Know

Minimum nightly stay: 4 nights. Safety notes: there are 3 flights of stairs in the home and the hosts advise that children are supervised as necessary and use the handrails. There is a separate office on the first floor with 2 other desks located in each of the other guest rooms, as well as another desk in the loft area on the third level. Ticks are common along with various kinds of wildlife in these areas.

About the Location

The home is located on 10.2 private acres, on a very quiet rural road just 3 minutes’ drive from the town of Woodstock in upstate New York. It's also walking distance to town (15-20 minutes) where you can enjoy world-class restaurants, organic food stores, boutiques and ice cream stores. There are beautiful hiking trails around the Ashokan Reservoir just 15 minutes away by car. Belleayre and Hunter Mountains are about 35 minutes away for skiing and other outdoor activities are plentiful all year round. It’s around 2.5 hours away from New York City - multiple buses to the city are available daily right from Woodstock. The Amtrak train station is 40 minutes away in Rhinebeck.

Accommodation Details

The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 3 floors. On the main level, you’ll find a large open plan kitchen with an island seating 5 and a dining area seating 6, as well as a separate living room with a fireplace. There’s a huge walk-around deck on this level which is great for entertaining and enjoying the surrounding 10 acres and mountain views. There’s also another deck off one of the bedrooms on the ground floor. The primary bedroom is on the third floor and boasts a kingsize bed with another loft lounge area. The other 2 guest bedrooms are on the ground floor level and both have queensize beds. There is a large guest bathroom between these guest rooms.

Style Notes

Woodstock wonder. Bright and light, the house boasts large windows to enjoy the scenery and wildlife, with sophisticated and stylish interiors. With a post-and-beam design, the home has high ceilings and an eye-catching floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace. The whole family will love the large comfortable sofa and large screen TV to watch movies, and there’s an additional TV located in one of the guest bedrooms. We love all the exposed wooden beams creating a rustic, laid-back feel, as well as the tree frame balcony and the stylish pendants over the island.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
