This cozy mountain cabin in beautiful Woodstock, New York has dreamy lodge-style interiors, furnished with traditional wood paneling and stone walls. It sleeps 6. Watch the kids play outside through the stunning floor-to-ceiling window and cook the family meal in the stylish kitchen, before relaxing in front of the open fire in this peaceful rural spot. Outdoor types will love hiking or cycling in the mountains and forests that surround this area, as well as skiing in the slopes of nearby Hunter mountain and Belleayre mountain, both 30 minutes away.

Why Kids Love it

The house has a great fenced-in patio and yard, plus a Radio Flyer wagon to play with, as well as family games indoors and even some musical instruments to try out. If you’re visiting in summer, take the kids to the Millstream swimming hole (15 minutes’ drive) and take a scenic sky-ride or zip-line adventure up on Hunter mountain (30 minutes away). In nearby Woodstock village (10 minutes’ drive), you’ll find the Woodstock Waterfall Park - a great spot to run off some steam - as well as a fun flea market and a choice of family-friendly eateries. Also nearby is the Buddhist Monastery on Mead Mountain and White Feather Farm in Saugerties for days out.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights except Christmas, New Year, Thanksgiving, July 4th and Labor day where the minimum is 3 nights. There is a town tax of 11% on all bookings that will be charged separately (plus 2.5% card processing fee). The house is set over 3 floors with no stair gates. There is plenty of space for parking - car hire is advised to explore the area. Dogs are usually welcome on request at an additional fee of $150 per week - check with the host for details and approval. The residence comes with smart air conditioning, dishwasher, fireplace guard, parking, TV, washer/dryer and WiFi. Rental also includes snow removable. Private trash removal, firewood, all utilities and Smart TV. NOTE: Guests will be required to sign a Short Term Rental Lease Agreement by the host on booking acceptance.

About the Location

This residence is located just outside the village of Woodstock in upstate New York. The house is surrounded by forests, national parks, woodland and rivers in a mountainous landscape, so there’s plenty of options for hiking, biking and fishing - great for those who love the outdoors. Wilsons state park is just across the way, with paved and wooded trails, a lake and rentals for canoeing and kayaking. Woodstock village is less than 10 minutes’ drive, and offers an array of family-friendly eateries as well as a whole host of quirky book stores and shops. Nearby explore Opus 40 sculpture park and the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. The famous Phoenicia diner and Emerson Spa are both a 10 minute drive in Mount Tremper and skiing in just 20 minutes away at Belleayre Mountain or 25 to Hunter. Albany airport is 1 hour away and New York City airports (JFK, La Guardia or Newark) are 2.5 hours away.

Accommodation Details

This residence has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The 2 main bedrooms each have 1 queensize bed, the third bedroom has 2 single beds. There is a full bath with tub on the first floor and shower in the upstairs bathroom. The spacious kitchen has Thermador range products and the open plan living/dining area has a dining table seating 8 (plus a huge fireplace, with guard). There is also a separate lounge on the lower level (with a smart TV) and a laundry area. Outside there is a stone patio with additional seating, as well as another fenced backyard with vegetable garden and fire pit.

Style Notes

Mountain lodge. This 1900's home has been fully renovated, drawing inspiration from its history and surroundings with eclectic and modern touches. The house features traditional styles from mountain cabins, such as original pine paneling, textural sheepskin rugs and the huge stone fireplace. The hosts have added contemporary touches, such as the quirky artwork, cozy leather armchairs and Eames furniture. We love the unique timber window boxes, the built-in log seating around the dining table and the amazing floor-to-ceiling window in the living room which overlooks the mountains.

Cancellation policy
$200.00 Cancellation fee will be applied to all cancellations. 60 days prior to date of arrival: 100% of BASE Rental Rate, (minus the *$200 cancellation fee). Security Deposit and Cleaning Fee will be refunded. 30 days prior to date of arrival: 50% of BASE Rental Rate, (minus the *$200 cancellation fee). Security Deposit and Cleaning Fee will be refunded. Less than 30 days prior to date of arrival: No refund, other than Cleaning Fee and Damage Deposit. NO REFUNDS due to weather UNLESS: The National Weather Service and the Town of Woodstock or Mount Tremper orders a MANDATORY Evacuation Order for the Ulster County area. The day/date such an order is given we will process the following refund: Any unused (prorated by day, minus cleaning fee) portion of rent for a guest currently in residence. Any unused (prorated by day) portion of rent paid by the Primary renter scheduled to arrive, who wish to shorten their stay and come for the remainder of their confirmed dates after the Order has been lifted, and our home has been inspected by Owner/Agent and is deemed habitable. Owner reserves the right to cancel the reservation if all monies and completed paperwork are not received by the date due, or should property become unavailable due to uninhabitable conditions. All monies will be returned if cancellation is due to uninhabitable issues as determined by Owner. In addition to the host’s policy which is listed here, all cancellations are subject to a Kid & Coe cancellation fee of 15% of the booking total.

Janna was such a pleasure to communicate with! Her home is warm and welcoming with unmatched views, and the outdoor spaces are as lovely as the indoors. A quick 10 minute drive from downtown Woodstock makes this home a wonderful mix of remote and accessible. Whether a rainy or snowy weekend or an adventure filled summer one, you will enjoy this space as your home-base while in the area. Highly recommend!
