A stylish apartment set in a beautiful shuttered Victorian residence with a large private garden, ocean views and access to a private beach. It sleeps 4. Recently renovated, rooms are light, bright, and airy with chic furnishings and a beautiful patio terrace for alfresco dining. Larger groups have the option of hiring out the neighboring Alouettes Residence, providing 2 further bedrooms and additional privacy, ideal for multigenerational families vacationing together. Beach lovers are spoiled for choice with several sandy beaches right on the doorstep, and some excellent wind and kite surfing at nearby Almanarre. The residence's location at the heart of the Côte d'Azur, is the perfect base for exploring the wider French Riviera, with vibrant St Tropez an hour’s drive away, and Cannes 1.5 hours.

Why Kids Love it

Kids are treated to ocean views and a fully fenced lawned garden for picnics, games and generally letting off steam. Inside, there are toys, books, and plenty of space for laid back afternoons with a large, comfy living room and a shady alfresco table for meals outside. Active kids have access to a tennis court, as well as a private beach just across the road. Several of the local beaches also have watersports facilities including windsurfing, kite surfing and diving courses for children age 7+. There is horseback riding plus 2 major fun parks and a go-cart track nearby. The local port has ice cream parlors and a range of family friendly cafes and restaurants. The hosts can help arrange for babysitters, baby equipment and bike hire on request.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights during peak season; 4 – 6 nights outside of this period. The apartment is on the ground floor and has access to a fully enclosed garden; please note that small children do need to be supervised whilst outside. There is WiFi throughout the apartment. There is no bathtub. A housekeeper can be arranged via the host, at an additional cost, pre-arrival. Car hire is recommended for getting the best out of the local area but is not essential. Please note that there is only 1 parking space available for use by guests.

About the Location

The apartment is set on the main beach road between Carqueiranne and Hyères harbor, in the heart of the Côte d'Azur. Local beaches can be reached on foot and the nearest local shopping is 2 km away in Carqueiranne which also has a range of cafes, restaurants, and ice cream parlors. It is a great base for exploring the best of the French Riviera with Aix-en-Provence 1 hour, 20 minutes’ drive away; St Tropez an hour’s drive; and Cannes 1 hour 30 minutes. For reaching the apartment, Toulon-Hyères Airport is the closest – about 15 minutes’ drive. Marseille airport is 1 hour, 10 minutes away and Nice is 1 hour, 20 by car. The speed train (TGV) stops at Hyères Train Station.

Accommodation Details

The apartment has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and is set on the ground floor of a Victorian house. The central living space is open plan in style with a living room-diner and an annexed kitchen, fully stocked with everything a guest would require. The living room has 2 sofas, a coffee table and a dining table seating 8 for family feasts. The 2 main bedrooms both have double beds and share a bathroom with a large walk-in shower. Outside space includes a patio terrace with an alfresco dining table seating 6 and a large, lawned garden space shared with the apartment above.

Victorian riviera. Preserving the best elements of its elegant heritage, this beauty of a seaside apartment provides contemporary comfort in a historic setting. Recently renovated by its Scandinavian owners, original features such as French doors, windows and shutters have been protected, creating light and airy interiors which fill with Riviera sunshine. A brooding dark paint palette has been used in the bedrooms to add character and coziness, while striking monochrome tiles in the bathroom instil chic, modern vibes. We love the bougainvillea clad exterior, with the ocean on one side, and lush Mediterranean gardens on the other, with plenty of shaded seating dotted for taking in the views.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
